I just finished my third week at HIIT Fitness. I go 2 to 3 times a week in the morning, usually the 5:30 AM class. One of my big criteria for picking this place was early classes, as I try to get home before my two toddlers wake up. Other parents who have little kids know the struggle of squeezing in exercise. I truly appreciate that there’s no hard sell, no contract song-and-dance that other big gyms do. Here, you can sign up online for classes à la carte or buy packs at a time which are a little bit cheaper per class. Then you book online and show up when it works for your schedule. I like that there are classes that start every 10 minutes, which makes sense when you see how the gym operates. Here’s the way this place works: there are four zones, each with 3 to 4 exercises that you circuit through two or three times. There are TV screens above each zone that demonstrate the workout, so you don’t have to think too hard, and Mike will come around and correct your form. You go through each zone and once you’ve done all four, you are done. There is a two-minute break in between zones, enough to catch your breath, but not enough that you lose your heart rate. Exercises include rowing machine, stationary bike, sprints, various kettlebell and barbell workouts, burpees, bodyweight exercises, rope swings, and pushing around those heavy plyometric cubes, that kind of thing. You’ll definitely be whooped at the end of one of these workouts. But after the first few times, you’ll be surprised how much you can do. It’s like a rolling start all morning. If I don’t make my 5:30 class, they’re cool about me jumping into the next one. Or sometimes I show up early and slip into the earlier one. All you need to bring is yourself, water, and willingness to spike your cardio for 45 minutes. There is a bathroom and a water bottle refill station, but that’s as far as I’ve used the amenities, because I’m usually in and out. There’s a nice bike rack out front, and I believe people park on the adjacent street. Anyway, I have been a slug of a dad, getting steamrolled by two energetic toddlers. I wanted to reverse that trend, and I look forward to my cardio interval classes here. Mike is a great owner and ambassador for his gym. I will continue to keep going here for the foreseeable future. I feel great, my energy levels have rebounded significantly, and I am only mad at myself for not doing this sooner. Cost-wise, I buy an eight-pack at a time and it’s $150, which is great IMO. Definitely give it a try - the first class is free.
I stopped in and the instructor was so amazing, took the time to show me all around the gym, explain the concept, and how classes were ran, encouraged me to stay and watch a class she was instructing to better understand. I ended up booking a class the next day! Loved it - so many die hard members, and I can see why! A great fun workout!
This is hands down my favorite gym I've ever joined. I love the layout and structure of the workouts. All of the trainers have been amazing and attentive in making sure my form is good. The whole gym is nothing but hard work and good vibes. If you are like me, the gym pays for itself because you won't be buying as much fast food and beer because those things don't mingle well with this kind of HIIT fitness.
This is such a unique workout program that really fits what I’m looking for. The 40 minute sessions are hard and rewarding. And I can get home within 1 hour of when I leave home. As someone that did CrossFit for 10 years (and I very much love CrossFit), this change of pace really suited me and is helping me build the core pillars of strength that I want to improve on. The great thing about what Mike, Michelle and the crew do here is that it’s scalable in every way. Perfect for beginners, challenging for those that are fit and have some experience, and also provides a great way to grow for those that have a lot of workout experience. I eagerly await every class, and am excited for the next class whenever I’m done. And of course the community here provides an often needed sense of belonging that I just love. You will not regret trying it out and you might just stay.
Literally THE BEST gym ever! The family like nature of this place is amazing! Every day a different workout guaranteed to make you burn your max amount of calories!
