I rarely leave online reviews, so the fact that I'm doing so now should tell you something! HipX is such a gem and I feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon it this past summer. It is the most "accessible" dance experience you could imagine. Come as you are, no expectations other than to be your authentic self. HipX is the embodiment of all the things that make St. Pete such a warm and welcoming community in which to live...but with an extra touch of "shimmy." ;)

The studio space is very welcoming and the instructor is wonderful and breaks down the steps so they are easy to understand. I’m happy to discover such a fantastic hidden gem in St Pete.

Inclusive dance studio where they really care about students and the culture. Not only are the instructors phenomenal performers but they make dance class a fun, positive place to build each student up. They provide a variety of dance from Polynesian, to belly dancing to fire flow. Best to be around.

Hip Expressions offers a lot of different dances, many of which aren’t offered elsewhere in the area. Every teacher has been great and the atmosphere is very inclusive. I recommend trying out something new and signing up for one of the lessons!

I’ve had nothing but a positive experience with this studio! All of the instructors are warm and welcoming with whatever skill you come in with. I found Hip Expressions during a time I was struggling with self-doubt and anxiety I hadn’t experienced in years. I found the movement from both the belly dance and Nia classes really helped to regulate my nervous system again. This isn’t just a class - it’s a community!! 💖🙏🏻 very grateful.
