The environment is super cute! We travelled all the way to downtown looking for a cafe to take pictures and it didn’t disappointed me. We ordered a matcha with ice cream and a strawberry matcha and I did really recommended the matcha latte float. The only downside were that the matcha itself was a bit bitter (though I personally prefer sweet matcha), and the ice cube was kinda big
I went to buy some on a weekday afternoon, and guess what? They'd sold out of matcha scones! I picked up a few different flavours to go, and they were all quite tasty. If you have a sweet tooth, pair a scone with a spoonful of cream. It's so light. For the savoury ones, try them with some butter. They're super fragrant and not too salty. When I got home and heated them up following the provided recipe, the outside became crispy and the inside was soft and fluffy. They're really good scones. I bet they'd taste even better if you eat them in the store. From the Google photos, the matcha scones have a matcha syrup drizzling. The store looks very simple and tidy, and there's even a small Christmas tree for the holiday season.
The raspberry white chocolate scone, paired with the complimentary mascarpone cheese, is probably one of the best scones I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend! I had it on the spot after the staff warmed it up. The exterior is golden brown, crisp and delicate, while the inside is airy, light and fluffy. They have various seating areas that are cutely decorated as well.
The Hojicha latte was smooth and nutty. I absolutely loved it 🥰 The Strawberry Matcha was also great, with just the right amount of sweetness. The lemon scone was delicious as well. Such a cute cafe with a cozy interior. A perfect spot to visit on a weekend morning!
There’s some stiff competition for scones on Dundas St West, with Kitten & Bear still holding the crown for me just across the street. But when a friend suggested we try this spot, I was happy to give it a go. We both ordered the blueberry scones, served warm with clotted cream, alongside coffee. The scones arrived fresh from being heated, perfectly warm to the touch. The pastry was fluffy, flaky, and buttery, with just the right amount of sweetness. I genuinely enjoyed mine, though they didn’t quite dethrone my favourite - likely just a matter of personal preference. The space itself is charming, with an inviting atmosphere, and the service was warm and friendly. A lovely little stop, even if my scone loyalty remains unchanged.
