Stay clear of this rental agency! To this day I regret reaching an agreement with the owner of this property management agency. I really wish I would’ve just followed through with taking them to court as I paid a $3000 security deposit and only received $800 back. I know, for a fact, I would’ve won for three times the amount of money that they withheld if I carried through with taking them to court. If you have a problem with getting your security deposit, take my advice and take them to court!!! They will be responsible for paying three times the amount of what they owe.

I’ve dealt with home River group twice in my life and I will avoid them at all costs moving forward. They prey on people with limited income by charging extremely high deposits and finding every possible way to not give you anywhere near the amount they charge for initial move in… aside from that I paid over $1,000 in pet fee’s over the years just to be charged over $700 dollars out of my deposit to replace a cheap carpet that was bound for ware and tear after 1 year and I was there for 3… and $500 dollars of petty stuff when I cleared all of my stuff out and even made some minor repairs for them to basically keep an entire additional months rent for their pockets. They go up on rent by quite a lot yearly and an advertised $1,350 a month easily turned into over $1,550 a month with unnecessary fee’s. I paid in full to break my lease because they move just anybody in and I ended up with a neighbor that had over 5 super loud dogs that I know weren’t being paid for nor does home river group ever come out to check the properties and confirm if people are actually honest about who and what is going on at the properties. Aside from that there was mold everywhere in the townhome bathrooms, kitchen, anywhere with water. the foundation was not sturdy causing cracks in the floors, and it was infested with gnats. The entire area was over congested with cars and they make you wait inconvenient amounts of time to repair anything that needs immediate fixing like AC and plumbing. These people only care about money. Not quality.

Working with Lavern Vasallo was a nightmare. I am a senior citizen and the manner in which she treated me was Deplorable. “Renters beware” once I submitted the require documents in the correct format she didn’t want to do the work of reviewing them. She then instructed me to just send in my current two paystubs, when I did she then advised me that the property in question was under consideration by another applicant. However the system reflected that I was the only applicant at the time I applied. She is definitely “NOT” an asset to the company. Shame on you Lavern V 😭😭😭😭

Absolutely worse company ever to rent from. All service calls go to a call center. They don’t speak to the maintenance ppl ever. When services are required they take weeks to get someone to even look at it then another week to have work approved. The house I rented had stained carpets absolutely reeked when I moved in and dirty all across the board. The shower was moldy. The bathtubs clear coat was peeling. The sink did not work properly or give hot water. The toilet leaked constantly. Terrible place to live. After talking to the maintenance guy who did work for them he mentioned that unfortunately this is how all properties are run by Homeriver Group. Stay away from this company at all cost. If this company is giving you trouble file a report with the Better Business Bureau

previously left a good review because the customer service rep Christopher was very helpful. since then, I’ve had nothing but horrible experiences with the rest of the company. Steer clear, would not recommend Home River Group to my worst enemy. Hope Christopher is working for a better company by now.
