I contacted three companies to evaluate my air conditioning system, and all of them told me the unit was old, unusable, and needed full replacement at an estimated cost of $14,000–$18,000. That expense was simply too much for me. I remembered a heating company that had visited about seven years ago and whose associate had been fair and convincing. After checking my Visa statements, I found their name: Hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Co. I contacted them and scheduled an appointment. Their Senior Comfort Advisor, Mr. Galen Squyres, arrived promptly and conducted a careful inspection of the system. He then asked to check the electrical outlet and discovered that the two panels supplying power to the unit were turned off. That was the real issue. I was deeply gratified by his honesty and integrity. He could easily have sold me an expensive new unit, but instead he acted with true professional values. He charged only for the service call and advised me to plan for a replacement within a few years. I cannot express enough appreciation for his kindness, professionalism, and ethical standards. Mr. Squyres is an excellent human being who works far above and beyond what one expects. Congratulations to Hometown Heating & Air Conditioning for having such outstanding employees.
I had someone come to look at our mini split. He was fine - there was apparently no technical issues and he provided potential techniques to fix the problem that we can try. However, what really was tough with this service is the person who answers the phone. We had two terrible experiences with her. First, when the technician was on the way, my husband called the number to ask that the technician call him upon arrival because he’d spent some time trying to look at the system. He was at work, and the front desk person seemed super confused by the request and it created a lot of stress for us as we have an infant who was melting down and I couldn’t come out and walk through with the technician. Our tenants were there and available to show the system but we wanted my husband to direct the technician to them and explain what he’s tried. She also told him that they don’t deal with mini splits even though we explicitly booked someone to look at our mini split. This made us question whether the technician was competent or not. The second is that I complained that you have to pay by phone. when I googled their number, I received a bot, which didn’t work to pay. I had to search around to find their office number. It’s annoying that you have to remember to call to pay after the fact. Her reaction was not empathetic or apologetic. She got nasty and told me there’s no secure way to pay aside from on the phone and then put me on hold with no explanation. I wasn’t sure she was coming back to take the payment. Luckily she had someone clearly above her in the chain of command call to deal with it instead. But he offered that I could pay online and after she had told me it was insecure, I definitely didn’t want to do that. Plenty of services offer online payment and I’ve used them without having my credit card stolen so I feel confused at her insistence that there’s no way for them to create safe online payment systems. Overall, the person answering the phone is a total disaster - both incompetent and rude. Not acceptable and I don’t want to deal with this company again.
Great customer service. I appreciated the professionalism, thorough information and options to repair/replace. Anthony came out to give an estimate for a new system and answered all of my questions. Loved the no hard sell. I ended up replacing a 27 year old heating/AC system with no regrets. These are now my go to people! Shout out to the gentlemen that came to install the new system! They arrived on time, were efficient with their time, handling a few hiccups with ease and cleaned up after themselves. Got to love that in a business. Keep up the good work, Hometown!
Very friendly and company. The job of repair to our furnace was scheduled and managed very professionally. We were informed every step of the way via text or email. We really appreciated an email that included the service technician's name and identifying picture. Our service technician, Marlon, was very knowledgeable and respectful. He did a great job of diagnosing the problem and advising us on next steps. Job well done!!
5 stars for excellent service from start to finish! The customer service rep was amazing and got a technician out same day. The technician was Ramiro. He was friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. Ramiro was also very patient and understanding with my father who is hearing impaired. He took the time to show my dad some maintenance tips. We ended up not needing any repairs. All in all, top-notch service! I highly recommend Hometown and Ramiro!
