Joining Honey Yoga 2+ years ago was the decision that moved the needle the most for my overall health and sense of community. Honey staff members swiftly check ego at the door which encourages everyone who walks through to follow suit. This is a special place with very skilled, knowledgeable instructors who understand the importance of challenging practitioners while keeping them safe and held. My practice is stronger because of joining, but the biggest win having joined is the very real community and belonging I feel every time I'm there. Honey Yoga friendships are for life!
I have 1 complaint PARKING. But aside from that I really enjoyed my class! I’m visiting San Diego. I have been running around in vacation mode & I knew I needed to slow down. I took a restorative yoga class and I feel great. I feel calm. I feel physically at peace. Arlene was at the front desk to check me in she has great energy & is super adorable. If I lived in San Diego I would return.
Finally found a space to learn/practice yoga that feels welcoming for all people, body types, genders, fitness levels, etc. Everyone has been supportive and motivating. So far I’ve enjoyed taking the beginners series which helps to get the fundamentals down and progress from there, as well as the slow honey class taught by Jomally which is slow but a tad bit intense and overall a well-rounded class for all levels. I love it here and happy I found Honey on my yoga journey.
Love love love Honey Yoga! The studio has become my retreat within my urban neighborhood. All of the teachers are thoughtful and approachable, no mirrors but yes candles and starlights, and the Hi/Lo class is the best! I only wish they had classes all day every day.
Updating the review: Been coming here for over a year now. Everything written before still applies. This is a solid neighborhood studio that is always trying to innovate by putting together new classes and events. There are some very intuitive instructors that I truly love! Most recently, the studio has had more frequent Women Circles, which is a very nice touch. * * * * * * * Been coming to honey yoga for the last month and feel both comfortable and challenged here. All teachers have the best playlists - have you done yoga listening to music? Game changer! They encourage you to tune in and approach your practice respecting your body and your limits. Adjustments are welcome. To invite that sort of body awareness, you don’t practice looking at a mirror. The studio can get pretty crowded, depending on the class but I guarantee you: it’s very diverse, people don’t look the same in age, gender, body shape, ethnicity, flexibility or years of practice. I love that! It normalizes yoga.
