Arslan was AMAZING! Every winter, our tankless hot water heater got a mystery error and the hot water would shut off. We have had the tank serviced multiple times over the years and no one was able to identify the problem. We had a hunch that it was the gas pressure. Sure enough, Arslan spent 10 minutes looking at the issue, correctly assessed the situation, and was able to fix the problem in a few hours. He was responsive and super friendly. We're so grateful for him!

Summary: Absolutely phenomenal and highly recommended, without caveat. I don't know if I could have found someone cheaper because this was a dire emergency and I had no time to shop around, but I have zero regrets - even if cheaper options do exist, I wouldn't want to take them. HorVer gave me a FAR better gas piping system than what I previously had - for the price of an emergency repair, I got a major upgrade instead. Detail: It's mid-January, early Saturday evening of a long holiday weekend, and the gas company comes to read the meter. They find many leaks in my basement and have no choice but to shut off the gas and lock the meter. I start calling plumbers. HorVer is the second one I try and the first one to answer. Within the hour, despite his plans to leave on an overseas vacation the very next day, the company's owner is here to inspect and evaluate the piping. We have an extensive project before us - I have a large house with 10 gas appliances and a very complicated piping system. About half of that system is original to the house (i.e., 90+ years old). There is so much old piping and so many unnecessary lines and fittings that the fastest and cheapest way to fix it is to tear everything out and start from scratch - I already knew this because the gas company employee had told me as much. Despite the vast scope of the project, its complexity, and the emergency nature of it, the price was quite reasonable and fair. I made a down payment, found a warm place for my wife and daughter to stay for a few days, and the HorVer guys got to work first thing the next morning. I stayed at the house the entire time because we have many pets at home. This gave me the opportunity to watch HorVer work and to evaluate the progress as it happened. The workers were polite, courteous, clean, and very efficient, but most importantly, they were consummate professionals extremely skilled in their craft. The situation in which I had so abruptly and unexpectedly found myself carried a substantial expense and considerable hardship, but HorVer made it sting a whole lot less by giving me a major upgrade instead of a simple replacement. They didn't just give me the same thing I already had, but without leaks - no, instead, I got an entirely new and modern gas plumbing system. The new piping has less than 2/3 total length as the old, with about half as many fittings, and with larger diameter pipes - thus, with fewer failure points and lower pressures, I can rest easy knowing that I won't have to worry about any gas piping issues for as long as I live here. To the extent that the new piping is visible, it looks great - one fat main line with branches running straight to their appliances as directly as practicable. HorVer kept the demolition work as minimal as reasonably possible and they paid close attention to detail - e.g., I got a new stove a couple of years ago and I hadn't been able to push it flush against the wall due to gas piping protruding from the floor; without me ever mentioning this, HorVer set up the new piping in such a way that I am now able to push the stove all the way back and get rid of that annoying gap. Likewise, without my input, they put valves and unions in all the right places, so if I ever need to add more appliances or do other maintenance, it can easily be done without having to hack away at any of this beautiful new piping. I should also mention that HorVer provided me with two large space heaters for the duration of the gas outage - with these two units supplementing two others that I already had, and despite the extreme cold, my pets and I stayed reasonably warm, my water pipes kept flowing, and (with very few exceptions) I even managed to keep our 200+ tropical plants alive.

Another 5-star review for HorVer Gas Piping & Repair! One week ago I smelled gas in my basement so I called People's Gas. They came out and found several leaks in our gas lines, so they shut off the gas, leaving us without heat or hot water in the middle of a 20-degree Chicago winter. I've owned my 100-year old bungalow for 20 years and had never made a repair to the gas pipes before. We found Mr. Arslan's website online and called him based on his many 5-star reviews, and I'm glad I did. He came out immediately and after testing the gas lines he recommended a complete replacement due to the fact that our pipes had been patched in many places, and new lines would reduce the number of connections, thereby reducing the chances of future leaks. He offered what we thought was a fair price and went to work with his assistant immediately. He gave us a couple of space heaters to keep our family of four warm through the night, and he recommended we run a trickle of water at the faucet overnight so the pipes wouldn't freeze. The next day, Sunday, he came right on time, 8:00 am as promised, with two workers. They finished the job so quickly that I was able to call People's Gas by noon to ask them to come out and restore our gas. We had heat and hot water by the evening. That was a week ago and we haven't had any problems at all. We are extremely happy with the work Mr. Arslan did for us, and on top of it I have to say he's a pretty cool guy and we enjoyed talking to him while he was in our home. Call HorVer when you need gas piping repair--you will be glad you did! They do great work in a timely manner!

Update to my review - they are very nice and prompt - however the solution they came up with means I have to remove my whole fireplace and have new marble hearth installed. I had 2 new plumbers/ contractors come to tell me how to fix the pipe sticking out in front of the fireplace- they both said “hack job”. I was charged 1400 for this solution- which to be fair - will bring gas to the fireplace - but then we are stuck with this huge ugly pipe in front. They were courteous and responsive. If you have a plumbing job that doesn’t require esthetics - then fine - but I was told I was massively overcharged for what they did. I called and tried to resolve this but I was told nothing was wrong and I misunderstood the solution. These guys were fantastic. They came out within a few hours of me calling regarding my fireplace gas leak and created a solution. Very lovely folks to work with.
