Hired House Doctors for a deck remodel and back stairs rebuild. They were excellent! Super communicative on timelines, and knowledgeable about materials. Eric and Kayden were wonderful to work with, and everything went smoothly. They were also able to make recommendations on areas we could cut costs if we wanted to. In a few cases we opted to do so (materials for the railing) and for others (composite material for the floor) we opted to stick with a pricier option. Appreciated there honestly, and love the outcome.
These people are crooks. 0 stars, but had to give at least one. I've been busy and haven't had a chance to write a review. They worked on my home about a year ago and quoted me for several things and then when they arrived, I was told by Tammy that they weren't going to paint certain things. I was busy working at the time and they charged $2700 or so to paint several doors and other tasks. The person that came ( I can't remember his name, JIm or something) claimed to be a plumber and knew less about plumbing than I did. He did a completely poor job (sloppy paint work, one coat, underneath bondo showing, paint stains over the hinges on the door which he didn't take off prior to painting one coat, etc.), asked to used my bathroom while he was here and then tried to wash his hands in my kitchen sink afterward. He kept cleaning his stuff and dumping stuff in my kitchen sink (without initially asking if he could). He also knocked down a camera outside and then looked at the camera asking me what brand it was and handed it back to me as though I was supposed to put it back (the opposite of a handyman). He also said when seeing my remodeled bathroom that their company should have gotten the contract-- for reference, the caulk he applied lasted about 2 months before peeling whereas the original work (which cost a lot but was well worth it from a very good company and contractor) lasted 5 years. He also kept telling me how this company had "benefactors" and he got tips and coffee when he worked. I called the owner, Craig, later after I discovered the shoddy work about it who said that he had heard other things and then offered a 10% discount (should have been more like 50% and still overpriced for what I got done) or the guy to come back and repair (no way-- after he left, there were paint flecks all over my wood floors, dirt and remnants of grout everywhere, I had to pretty much have the entire place cleaned (super sterilized my kitchen), I found out much later that he left out parts in the top of my cabinet (high where I didn't look until much later) and I think he also was looking at my AC filter while he was working and jammed it incorrectly back into the wrong area--found this while carefully looking around after the work given a negative vibe from him although I can't prove he did that as cameras were not in that area). I really was thinking of reporting these people to some sort of consumer protection, but didn't have time to do that due to my own work. Essentially, it was theft in broad daylight from these people, and they left the place worse than they found it. I don't know if they treat other people differently, but I used them based on reviews and am leaving this because I was fooled by those reviews (possibly from "benefactors"). I literally felt like someone robbed me (that Tammy person I spoke to originally have the work scheduled never even called me once after my contract was signed (I called her the day before asking if/when someone was coming-- I had been out of town a lot at that time) and then told me things that I had discussed with the person doing the original estimate were not to be done ( I realized later that the contract was deliberately vague and fooled me into signing while I was traveling-- for reference, the people who remodeled my bathroom added additional items without asking to try to go above and beyond like a true upstanding company). These people charged me for three days of work and that guy was barely here for two days and left my place a mess and actually broke things-- I would pay NOT to have them come to my home). Do not use these people. They are crooks. My experience.
We hired House Doctors Handyman & Home Remodeling Austin for a wooden garage door replacement and coloring project. It was a complex job, but the technician took the time and care needed to complete it properly. Eric, in particular, brought great knowledge to the table, and his attention to detail really showed. Tammy did an excellent job coordinating the work and keeping us informed throughout. While the project took some time, the quality of work and professionalism made it worthwhile. Overall, a great experience—would definitely recommend them!
We had our daughters closet redone by House Doctors. They came on time and worked really well to paint the closet and assemble the ikea furniture that we had ordered . The scope , timing and pricing was all transparent and the work came out excellent. Our daughter is really happy, and so are we.
From beginning to end, this was the best experience. Tammy fully explained the process that would happen before, during and after the installation of my storm door. Eric and Pierce arrived early (when does that ever happen) and had my storm door installed quickly and professionally. Then they cleaned up after themselves. My door looks amazing and works great. I got more than just a door installed - I've found a handyman company for life! Thanks House Doctors!!!
