Randy, Junior, Mason, and the rest of the crew at Irish are top tier. They own their work and they make sure you are taken care of. The old 4.0 in my parents’ 1992 Jeep Cherokee needed a rebuild after 345,000 miles of spirited use. We got a plan together with Irish Automotive and Moffitt & Bratton Auto Machine to get the original engine removed, rebuilt, and re-installed. Irish modified the old R12 AC system for modern refrigerant, the new engine was outfitted with new sensors and high quality fuel injectors per request, and the initial run / break-in was completed. Randy gave us detailed instructions for the first miles on the rebuilt engine and the initial maintenance requirements. It was obvious from Randy's turnover that he has a sincere sense of responsibility for his shop's quality of work and reputation. The rebuilt Jeep initially had a couple teething pains, neither of which were due to the engine rebuild quality nor the installation. The original radiator and original fuel pressure regulator seemed good initially, but became suspect as the break-in / shake-down drives got underway. Thankfully, Randy took care of us with the cooling issue, and the fuel pressure regulator was an easy five-minute swap. Irish made every effort to correct problems when they came up. The Jeep currently has 460 miles on the new engine and is running better than ever, with a ridiculous amount of low-end torque compared to how it was before. It now effortlessly crests the I84 hill east of Micron, rumbling along at 2,000 rpm and 80 mph without downshifting to 3rd gear. Will keep this updated as the miles and trips pile up. Beyond the details of this review, I'm thankful my parents have a working relationship with Irish on keeping this Jeep roadworthy.
While driving home from work, my driver's side window suddenly would not roll back up. With the winter weather approaching, this was an issue that needed to be fixed immediately. Every other shop I called around to would not see me right away until I called Irish and they said they could take a look. They diagnosed the issue quick and had parts on the way immediately. Jr and Randy came in clutch and are definitely the best mechanics I've worked with in the area. Thank you guys!
I used Irish Motors for years in SE Boise. Before I bought a “teenager car” Randy offered to check each car out. He is honest and fair in all our conversations! I’m in a point where I needed an honest mechanic again, Irish Motors was my first thought ! I had to wait for a Few days for an appointment, but it’s ok because Irish Motors is worth it! Wife Chrisy is as knowledgeable as Randy ! Highly recommend them!
My Promaster van started having issues, while I was loaded with about 2600 lbs. My battery light came on, things started to flicker, warning lights flashed...all while I was 150 miles from home. I walked into the shop with no appt and a stranger to the company, looking for help. I was immediately greeted at the front desk and told "we'll get you taken care of." JR came out, went thru everything under the hood, checked my battery, hooked up the diagnostic machine, checked lines and connections. Anything and everything he could do and think of, short of tearing down my engine. We finally determined what the issue was and he assured me I would make it home with no further complications. When I asked what I owed for everything they did (at the drop of a dime mind you), he told me "you're all good. I'm glad we could help" and simply shook my hand. Based off this experience, I would recommend them to anyone looking for help with their automotive needs.
Randy is top-notch. He is one of the nicest people. Nicest business owners knows how to run an automotive shop. Got our Mustang running perfectly. Thank you Randy and you're guys.
