If you’re reading the reviews trying to decide, let me save you some time — you’re in the right place. Island Dog Obedience is AMAZING. Kristi is truly one of a kind 🤩 My boyfriend and I came to her desperate for help with our new pup, Kona, who struggled with severe anxiety. He was scared of pretty much everything — people, new environments, being separated from us — and we were also dealing with barking, basic obedience, and some unwanted behaviors. After just 4 sessions, the transformation has been unbelievable. Today was our final session, and I honestly wish I had a video of how Kona used to be so people could truly understand how far he’s come. At the beginning, he wouldn’t even go up to Kristi and was extremely hesitant and fearful whenever she took the leash. Now? He confidently walks up to her on his own terms — calm, trusting, and self-assured. That alone speaks volumes. Kristi didn’t just train Kona — she guided us on how to train him the right way. She’s patient, knowledgeable, supportive, and truly cares about both the dog and the owners. She sets you up for success, but it’s important to note that the progress comes from continuing the work at home too — and her guidance made that possible for us. We are beyond grateful for Kristi and everything she’s done for our pup. If you’re dealing with anxiety, fear, or behavioral issues and want real results, Island Dog Obedience is 100% worth it. I cannot recommend her enough!

I'm very pleased with the 2 week program that my 8 month old German Shepherd attended. Raya is a great trainer and really focused on key area's that my pup needed help with. From the public socialization to building my pups confidence up the overall experience was worth it. She is much more tolerable in public and around people and dogs. This training really helped me connect better with my pup as well. I also really enjoyed the daily video and picture updates. Raya was always helpful and was always availabe if i had any questions throuhout the boarding program.

There are not enough words to describe how unbelievably thankful I am to Raya. In the two week Board & Train she was able to completely turn our sweet girl around. Our dog Lily is incredibly strong and she would pull to the point that I could no longer take her on walks. She also used to lunge and growl at every person and dog that walked by because of how protective of us she is. Raya sent us videos, pictures and information daily throughout the process and seeing Lily’s progress became the highlight of my day. Since we’ve picked her up, I have been able to take her on multiple walks a day and she hasn’t lunged at a single person or dog. I feel like Lily is getting a new opportunity at life where she can explore and be happy. I could not recommend Island Dog Obedience or Raya enough.

It is hard to put into words exactly how grateful we are for the progress our pup made with Maria and Island Dog Obedience. We did a two week board and train with our 11 month old Labrador puppy, Slater and I can say with confidence, it was worth every penny! Our boy came back to us with so many positive behaviors. He now walks beautifully in heel and off leash, responds to a slew of new commands, is able to “place” when we have guests over and has better recall than we ever expected! A bonus for us was the daily photos and videos that Maria sent. It was such a treat to see his progress unfold… and receive proof that he was not only learning, but also happy and loved! I sent my 10-month-old Golden Retriever to Island Dog Obedience for their two-week program, and I’m honestly blown away by the results. Before training, my pup was sweet but definitely had some opportunity on the behavioral side of things. Now? He’s off-leash trained, stays in place while I move around the house, and listens with a level of obedience I didn’t think was possible this early on. The structure and consistency they provided made a world of difference, and the tools they sent us home with, including the best e-collar trainer in the business which set us up for success. My dog is now calm, confident, and responsive. If you’re on the fence, just do it. It’s been a total game-changer for both of us. Mahalo, Island Dog!
