@J Fitness and Training wasn't my first attempt to find an honest, talented service provider but it wasn't long after first meeting "the man" that my exhaustive research had finally borne fruit. Save yourself the same literal hell I went through finding this guy, run don't walk to the nearest phone and call this guy. Blessings on your castle, brah. ✌️♥️

I have AuDHD, EDS - Hypermobility and POTS. And a whole lot of perimenopause wreaking havoc on the A-Z of my physical, emotional and mental state. From day, one, Jay has been receptive, compassionate, encouraging, and understanding. I have never worked with a physical trainer who has actually not only given me permission, but even borderline become protective and upset with me if I don’t stop and listen to my body when it says it is tired or hurting. This isn’t a place where they yell “no pain no gain at you”. Jay’s extensive training to support people with hypermobility is so refreshing after working with countless physios over the year who have unintentionally made things a lot worse for me, by directing me to do exercises that actually hyperextended other parts of my body - exactly what us bendy people don’t need! I have always stopped going to these trainers because I have felt ignored and misunderstood, and discouraged and embarrassed that I was asked to do exercises that I couldn’t properly do. As a person who experiences a lot of rejection sensitivity because of late diagnosed ADHD and a perfected associated ability to mask when I feel overwhelmed, embarrassed, or ashamed, I feel completely at ease working with Jay and absolutely accepted exactly as I am. I have never felt the need to pretend or mask with him. Investing in sessions with Jay has been the most positive decision for exercise support for me in easily the last two decades of trying desperately to find a trainer who can help me decrease chronic pain and escape from the unhealthy cycle that is pain leading to immobility and then ultimately worsening issues. Not only has my constant joint aching decreased significantly, even to the point they there are days where there is miraculously none at all, I am also learning such extensive information to properly understand how my body works in order to look after myself so much better. Jay is always receptive to meeting my autism needs for information by happily explaining his process, showing me how my muscles work and explaining optimal function as compared to the muscle groups that can incorrectly take over on my body. He has helped me substantially for improving proprioception (properly sensing which muscles are engaging) so that I can be a lot more successful self-correcting when I work at home. Ultimately, I cannot stress enough how magical it feels to have found somebody willing and sufficiently knowledgeable to adjust exercises so that I can do them without pain, or who works around avoiding me getting faint from POTS (without standing, or without my arms needing to be in the air, or getting too hot). Jay is a little rainbow of sassy happiness and I not only feel great leaving his sessions but also totally enjoy his hysterical and entertaining banter.

I can't recommend Jay enough! I've been dealing with chronic pain for months, and after trying so many treatments with minimal relief, I finally found Jay, and it's been a complete game-changer. From the very first session, it was clear he truly understands how the body works and has a wealth of knowledge about managing and alleviating pain. Jay tailored each session to address my specific issues, not just providing temporary relief but working to target the root causes of my pain. He’s incredibly patient and attentive, always checking in to make sure exercises feel right and explaining why each movement matters. I’ve gained so much more mobility and feel stronger than I have in years. Jay’s approach is both holistic and practical, blending expert technique with a deep level of care and understanding. If you're struggling with chronic pain, do yourself a favor and book a session with Jay—you won’t regret it!

I’ve been working out with Jay for years and am in the best shape of my life as a result. My goal was simple, I only wanted more stamina and energy, but his understanding of pain free performance techniques helped me through a few sports related injuries as well. He’s extremely knowledgeable, but more importantly for me he makes our sessions fun and engaging. I’d have given up on this fitness stuff years ago if it wasn’t for him.
