We initially tried filing our taxes with another provider, but were originally told one price before that price suddenly ballooned to more than double the original quote. We reached out to James Family Tax Service and could not be happier with their services. Fast (not too fast of course), friendly, and reliable service from the very beginning. We weren’t able to make it in when we needed to, no problem, they set up a zoom call with my wife and I. Great service at a fair price, couldn’t ask for anything more.

UPDATE: Richard reached out to me directly to apologize and to personally review my taxes. Though there was an error, Richard was quick to make the revision and resubmit my taxes for an amendment. He was wonderful to work with and I appreciate his humility in recognizing that there was an error and being quick to fix the problem. The people here genuinely care about their clients and strive to make and continuously maintain a positive impression. My meeting with Richard was incredibly positive and made me feel heard as a client. This type of care makes me confident that my taxes are in good hands. I'm doing a 180 flip on my review and I am happy to give James Family Tax 5 stars. I really wanted everything to go well because the tax professional I worked with was genuinely so nice. Unfortunately, our taxes were done completely wrong. I was surprised that she had completed our taxes before we even got on the Zoom call. She didn't ask any clarifying questions about my tax situation to find out if we qualified for any tax breaks etc. I told her that my husband was a non-resident(pending green card) filing as a resident for tax purposes but she didn't check the box for this particular status. We also needed to attach a signed statement to declare his first year residency due to qualifying by the Substantial Presence test outlined on the IRS website and our tax pro didn't mention it at all. She also asked for my checking/routing number to direct deposit our refund so I was expecting to see the funds in my account. Instead I got a paper check in the mail with both mine and my spouses name on it but we don't have a joint bank account and our credit union isn't in this state so there's now extra steps for us to deposit our check that could have been avoided by just doing the direct deposit I asked for. Honestly, I wouldn't come here if you have any sort of complexity with your tax situation.

As a mental health therapist in private practice, taxes are not my specialty. Richard and his team have taken the anxiety out of doing all things taxes. I have been using them for 3+ years and always appreciate the time and care they take in getting to know me and my practice needs. Richard is very kind and patient with my questions and you can tell he is passionate about his craft. You are in excellent hands with him and his team.

From day one, I’ve been extremely impressed with the James Family Tax team. Their entire staff is courteous, empathetic, efficient, and kind—all of which are important qualities when navigating tax situations. I appreciate them going the extra mile by educating me on how my tax situation came to fruition and untangling the web! I cannot recommend this group enough and plan on using them each year moving forward.
