It was a really fun experience at Jars of Dust making a serving bowl. I have never done pottery before, but I will be back for more classes. 😅 Any poor artistic choices in the photos of my serving bowl are purely my own, but I am looking forward to seeing the finished product and learning what worked and what I should do differently next time. 🤷♂️ 11/7/25 This is an update from another class. The platter class was great too. Looking forward to the mug class. 11/23/25 I realized I never provided updated photos of the finished piece with the “sardine” glaze. Today I used it for the staff holiday party at my library. 12/18/25 I have added my second ever pottery piece, a platter. The ends are really uneven and wonky even for a rustic hand build, but I am glad the start of the stems are where the end is wider as that looks visually right. I am not exceptionally artistic, but I appreciate art. Most of all the classes are fun and you learn a lot if things that are hard to fully convey in words without trying it hands on.

My husband and I did a private clay throwing class with Sarah and we had a BLAST! My husband has some experience but this was my first experience with clay. Sarah was patient, thorough, and when I messed up (which was inevitable) she helped me fix my pieces. 100% recommend! We'll be signing up for some more soon!

I did a private group serving bowl class with Elizabeth. It was the loveliest time! Her instruction was clear and caring, she gave us all the confidence to try something new, and was very supportive through the whole process. I would highly recommend any class at Jars of Dust!

We had such an amazing experience at Jars of Dust for our company’s director team outing! The pottery class was the perfect mix of fun and creativity. Meag was an incredible instructor, so patient, encouraging, and absolutely hilarious! She kept us laughing the whole time while still making sure we learned a ton. The studio is beautiful and welcoming, and it was such a unique way to connect as a team. We can’t recommend Jars of Dust and Meag enough!

I loved the mug making class! It was very fun and the class only had about 7 people all together. I never felt rushed and our instructor was very helpful and hands on as well. She took us step by step on how to put together and mold our mugs too. I plan on coming back to try a different class for fun.
