This is a really good gym overall. There’s a wide range of equipment – some of it older, but everything is clearly well maintained, neat, and in good working order. They’ve also just replaced the dumbbells, which is a great upgrade and shows they’re investing in the place rather than letting things slide. One of the biggest strengths of the gym is the people. There are plenty of fitness coaches and classes available, so whether you’re a beginner or more experienced, there’s proper support to help you reach your goals. The instructors are friendly, approachable, and genuinely encouraging, which makes a big difference to the atmosphere. The gym floor itself is always clean, and you regularly see staff actively wiping down equipment and keeping things tidy – something that doesn’t go unnoticed. The only area that could really do with improvement is weight re-racking. I genuinely feel bad watching staff put weights away, only for another member to come along, use them, and leave them out again. Even when people do try to put them back, they’re often placed on the wrong racks or in the wrong order. I know this is a common issue in many gyms, but it does feel like something that could be handled better here. A few ideas that might help: • Clearer, colour-coded or brightly large numbered racks so it’s very obvious where each weight belongs • Better visual guides (for example, larger labels or outlines) rather than current small posters people tend to ignore • Encouraging a stronger “check your station before you leave” culture • Light incentives or friendly reminders from staff during busy periods None of this takes away from how good the gym is overall – it’s clean, welcoming, well equipped, and well staffed. With a bit more focus on encouraging members to put weights back properly, it would be an even better experience for everyone.

Have issues with my phone and qr code and have to get buzzed in but staff are brilliant even though it’s annoying for them they always great me with a laugh and chat . I think she’s in management but the lady Beth is just brilliant . Always jolly and always chats to me and has brilliant energy . Can see her presence on gym floor and she’s a credit to the company . I was a member here years ago but looks like dynamics have changed and for the better . Gavin PT very courteous also and Ann Marie’s spin class energy is spot on 👏👏👏

JD Gyms Leeds North has a good range of equipment and the 24/7 access is really convenient. It can get very busy at peak times though, and some machines are sometimes out of order. Overall it’s decent value for the price, but maintenance and cleaning could be improved.

Decent size Gym with a decent staff. Quite a few pieces of the equipment need overhaul or seemed to be broken at my time of visiting. Has a very dated feel, Cleanliness was definitely an issue in the men's changing areas. Men's changing areas seemed to have been pretty forgotten by the cleaners and were subsequently quite dirty, the smell seemed to be quite strong in the area too. Mens showers seemed to hardly function correctly with both pressure and temperature. If cleanliness is sorted out then would be a recommendation but for now it's more of a go to if you have to

I've been a member for several years because its 24hours and its close to home. But post-covid it has gone so downhill. I would never shower / sauna here because the whole place is unclean. I bring my own yoga mat because I've never once seen theirs cleaned. The women's gym is a joke - its actually insulting how uncared for it is. Damaged machines, mirrors, dirty floors. They wont let you use the studio space after 9pm on Fri/Sat - not sure why? Tonight the heating is on over the cardio equipment - its sweltering. It feels like nobody cares and that feeds down to the users who leave the place a mess too. For the £ that must be coming in here I'd at least expect to see it clean :(
