Unfortunately this is who was assigned as my family members duty lawyer.... I say unfortunately as they have been nothing short of a shambles. We have never had to deal with this before, and their interactions are deplorable. Jacqueline McColl, who seems to be a senior lawyer, is extremely rude in her communications... that is if you actually get an answer without having to threaten to report her! Family member has been remanded since September because they can't seem to do their jobs properly. My family member has given his lawyer permission to speak to us about him and what may/may not happen... yet we get some BS about GPDR. If you can't deal with the volume of clients you have, then cut some. Don't take them on if you can't treat them fairly! Even the Sheriff had to scold the lawyer in court in front of everyone and even had to apologise to my family member on how he has been treated and the fact backround reports and psych reports have still not been done. I have no idea who's responsibility is is, but it has been ridiculous. AVOID at all costs and if your loved once is arrested and they tell you their lawyer is from John Pryde, ask for someone else! They are now refusing to represent him, which in all honesty, we are happy about. Shame on you John Pryde and Jacqueline McColl and lawyer Mark!

I phoned up after a very challenging experience when my father was sentenced to 2 years, asking if I could be afforded legal representation because there were many mistakes made during the trial (evidence withheld that was relevant, including character statements not provided to the judge in error). However, rather than offer some counsel the lawyer I spoke to dismissed me and even had the audacity to simply state “it’s not the lawyers fault your father is in jail it’s his own fault and I do not want to represent you”, delivered in a sneering tone. Unbelievably callus in the context and generally very unprofessional.

I owe a great deal of thanks to John Pryde and Co in relation to my wife’s visas over the years. Their knowledge is impeccable and I cannot recommend a better company when it comes to the visa application process. My wife now has her indefinite leave to remain visa thanks to Lily and the team and we’ll of course be using them again for the citizenship application because at this point I simply trust them implicitly.
