My daughter is currently renting through this agency, and her experience has been notably disappointing. She works in a demanding profession, and the agency’s lack of clear and timely communication has significantly added to her stress. On multiple occasions, she arranged annual leave for scheduled appointments, only for no one to attend. She then had to follow up herself to discover that the appointments had been cancelled without any notification. Routine matters have required persistent chasing, and escalation to senior staff has not resulted in meaningful improvement. Based on her experience, agencies elsewhere demonstrate far greater reliability, professionalism, and accountability. Regrettably, we cannot recommend this agency.

My experience with this agency was really nice. Sophia Tong was the agent present with me for the viewing and she was really nice and accommodating. She explained the whole process to me as this was my first time renting. She also followed up with the landlord and updated me on any news she got from them. It was a stress free and quick process overall because in less than two weeks she informed me that I have been accepted for the house.

I recently moved into a rental property with John Shepherd and the process was handled really well. Sophia Tong was really accommodating, allowing me to view the property on a Saturday so as not to cause difficulties with my full time job. The process from viewing to finding out I had been accepted for the property was very fast and I was kept updated throughout, which I really appreciated. Gemma Davies was also very helpful with my initial queries and updates once I had passed referencing. Would recommend John Shepherd for renting :)

John Shepherd have been fantastic in letting the property and managing the change over from the previous tenant. From the time the management moved from Centrick to John Shepherd, the transition has been smooth and hassle free. It was an advantage that Centrick staff transitioned over. Communications have been timely and accurate. I was kept informed regularly and they gave me good advice about the rental situation etc. and helped find a new tenant without any disruption. Very happy with the service and support I receive and would recommend them to anyone looking for letting services.

John Shepherd has been managing my flat in Birmingham city centre, and overall, they’ve done a good job. From the beginning, they’ve been responsive and helpful—definitely better than competitors, based on what I’ve heard. I’d like to specifically praise Alisha Donaldson, who has been an outstanding employee. After my flat was flooded, there was a huge volume of emails from myself and other involved parties, yet Alisha remained incredibly helpful and professional throughout. She managed communication with unresponsive tenants and coordinated contractors efficiently. Her dedication and calm handling of a stressful situation truly stood out. I’d really like her supervisors to be aware of the excellent work she’s done. Please make sure this exceptional team member gets the recognition she deserves.
