Great meditation experience and great teachers. The teachers have helped me create a meditation routine and inspired how to keep it fresh and fun. Sunday in philly is awesome . I love the meditation center vibes. I also enjoy Wednesdays in Collingswood. John Baker is a great teacher !
Beautiful serene space. FYI - you enter through the back entrance. Go down the alley to the left of the building and the entrance will be on your right. For the Sunday morning session my experience was - you spend time listening to the instructor, then meditate, listen again, break up in groups to discuss your thoughts and meditate again. Really positive and welcoming experience
Found on @Meetup and decided to try something new, so i went to Kadampa Meditation Center in Old City. We meditated and the instructor read us Universal Compassion by Venerable Geshe. Practical and uplifting explanation of how we can transform our day-to-day lives –including even the most demanding and difficult situations – into opportunities for personal and spiritual development.
I was interested to get into a meditation practice but at first, felt hesitant because I wasn’t sure about meditating in the context of Buddhism. I’ve been very pleasantly surprised by how welcoming this center is and how comfortable it is to join the meditation classes, no matter if you are Buddhist or not. The classes are very accessible. My neighbors and I have been going together for a few months and we have all found something valuable in each of the classes. I would highly recommend this place!
