I reached out to sam for help with my GSD, and she delivered! she was very responsive when scheduling his drop off, and when he was at her house she sent me plenty of photos and videos! he was struggling with counter surfing, leash pulling, not being able to focus around other dogs, and a few other smaller things and now that he’s home, he hasn’t attempted to get on the counter once, walks perfectly in a loose leash heel, and most importantly can ignore dogs on walks! he also had some issues bothering my older chihuahua and cat, and is doing a great job respecting their space. Sam is overall a great person and trainer, and i definitely don’t regret choosing her services!

Sam was an absolute hero to our dog Fozzy. Fozzy is a 3 year old mini golden doodle who was our dream dog when we brought him home but quickly became protective of the household members (not only against strangers but also between each other). He didn’t like strangers petting him and would growl, snarl, and bite any humans or dogs who tried to befriend him. We felt hopeless and had tried a few training sessions locally with little to no improvement. When a friend recommended Sam it was a tough decision being that we lived in PA and would be sending him to Kentucky for a whole month. While contacting Sam to set things up I was describing Fozzy’s behaviors which felt embarrassing and like we were poor dog parents but she never made me feel judged. She gave great explanations as to why the behaviors can happen. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional in her field. In talking to her we knew she was the right choice and was so great with Fozzy right from pickup. She understood our sadness and worry of sending him away but eased our mind with frequent pictures, videos, and updates. He made leaps and bounds while he was with her and upon his return she taught us humans how to rise to the level of training he had been taught. He was like a whole new dog in his behaviors both at home and in public. Fozzy was sad to see her go but we find comfort in knowing she is always there for us in our training journey and we look forward to working with her again in the future!

We signed up our Bloodhound, 5 months old Huck for the Puppy Primer program and Sam did an excellent job teaching him the basic skills to help us to be able to take him on family outings and him not drag us around and so our grandchildren could enjoy playing with him without all the jumping and chewing. He’s a different puppy now and it’s all thanks to Sam and Kentucky Dog Training LLC

We sent our 1 year old rescue, Frankie, to training with Sam at Kentucky Dog Training LLC because she dealt with a lot of anxiety and reactivity around other dogs. As she is a bigger, athletic dog and we do not have a backyard, we wanted her to be able to have the freedom to run around off leash at parks and beaches and have the confidence to walk on leash around other dogs! Although she was only at training for a few weeks, Sam did an AMAZING job laying the ground work for Frankie to be off-leash and calm and polite on-leash. Sam is also equally committed to teaching the owners how to continue training on their own, giving us the tools we need to work with Frankie and answering any questions we’ve had so far with the possibility to do follow-up online training sessions as well. We can’t recommend the 18-day board and train program enough!

Sam has been excellent to work with! I look forward to dog club every week! Sam is very knowledgeable and patient, and has created a space to work with your dogs that is nonjudgmental. Working with her is allowing me to grow in my skills as a handler and strengthening the relationship between my dogs and I! Highly recommend working with her! Most recently she has worked with my pet dog, a rescue pit mix who was struggling. She has made great strides with him and is helping me communicate with him effectively. This has made him a much more enjoyable dog to live with.
