LOVED everything about this restaurant! Felt like a Michelin-star restaurant. The pizza and pasta felt like the most authentic Italian we’ve had in the states, and the Ceaser was so unique and delicious. Loved the cocktails too!
I made reservations for a birthday dinner (12/28/25) at Knife Italian Steak (KIS) for my bestie. The restaurant is very dark except in the inner circle and top level. We asked to be moved so we could see better. The ambiance is unique with splashes of color and art that intrigue. Our server Crystal was attentive, informative and personable; unfortunately, that didn't make the food any better. The only thing on the menu that tasted good was the bread. I know this restaurant is known for steaks, but they had quite a bit of seafood so I thought it would be a good choice. I was so wrong. The prawns were over salted and I couldn't force myself to finish them. My lobster raviolis were so-so. The dough was grainy and lacked any flavor other than butter. Also the lobster was undercooked. How do I know, beyond it wasnt the right color, it was slimy and Ive watched enough Gordon Ramsey to know when something is "RAW"! The Caesar was so acidic and the anchovy flavor was the only flavor besides the romano--too much of all the wrong ingredients AND no salt, yuck. Also it was deconstructed so I had to cut the crouton, the wedge, mix in the dressing-- too much work for no real reward. On to my friends food, she had the Parmesan potato for an appetizer, it had a bland flavorless parmesan sauce, the potato was greasy and it was under salted. The presentation was nice. She also had the Caccio de Pepe with chicken. The chicken was dry. So dry in fact that when my friend tried to cut it her entire plate came off the table from the sheer force needed to get the knife through the chicken. So needless to say when they asked if we wanted dessert, we declined. We were ready to go. They did take off the prawns, but the reality is, it was not a good experience on such a special day. The worst part is we decided to go to the Club Lounge in the Ritz for a dessert and drink. Within 40 minutes after my friend had finished her food at KIS, she was nauseous. She vomited up her entire pasta dish. So there was no dessert or drinks to be had to celebrate her. I feel awful because I chose KIS. I would not only not recommend this restaurant, but I wish I could go back in time and never consider it for my friend's birthday. Such a huge disappointment!
Very nice offering to meet any type of taste. No need to call an Uber to enjoy this meal when you stay at The Ritz.
What a nice experience. We met up with some friends and had a wonderful evening with good food, better service, and great conversation.
The ambiance at Knife Italian is amazing, with couches and a lounge area that create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. I came for dinner with my family and ordered a ton of appetizers, which were actually good. The bread and the cool salmon chip were highlights, and the margherita pizza, though simple, was enjoyable. For the entree, I had the spaghetti, and as basic as it is, I really liked it a lot. However, the pizza was burned badly, so overall, dinner would get four stars. The reason I'm giving Knife Italian three stars is because of my morning experience, which was absolutely horrible. My parents and I came for the breakfast buffet, which we heard is some of the best in the city. They had croissants, an omelette bar, and everything you'd expect. I got an omelette, some eggs, croissants, and bagels--typical breakfast buffet indulgence. Despite the good service and appealing setup, the eggs were horrible. So horrible, in fact, that they even out this review to three stars. After eating the eggs, I became really sick, and I'm still sick while writing this review. Overall, combining my dinner and breakfast experiences, I give Knife Italian three stars.
