I visited Kume Spa for the first time today. I found them through Groupon, which is a great way to explore new businesses. I ordered a Korean Body Scrub & infrared sauna (Groupon), then added two services ( 30 min reflexology session & 30 min massage). My trip started rough, Google directions were confusing, my Lyft canceled so I had to wait for a second one, and I arrived 25 minutes late. The front desk followed policy and charged for the full service, which meant my reflexology and massage were shortened. The reflexology was okay, but the massage was done at the reflexology chair foot rest, were I was given pillows to hold and rest my head on, instead of a room and wasn’t very comfortable. However, everything totally changed once I moved to the building for the Korean body scrub. The sauna and scrub were absolutely incredible! Professional, thorough, and incredibly relaxing. The warm water rinses made me feel pampered and refreshed. I felt like royalty. It was easily the best part of the entire visit and worth the trip. Overall: the scrub is amazing and highly recommended, but I wish there had been an option to adjust the service package rather than rushing two treatments. I’d return for the scrub again.
Pros: I did receive a massage Cons: the heat function in the bed was broken. The room was very cold. The linens smelled stale. The floor was sticky, the massage therapist crocs made sticky floor sound as he moved around the room. The place to put your clothing is in a cute little dollar store box on the ground. I had to walk on the stocky floor to get onto the cold massage table. The massage therapist had his headphone in one ear listening to I don’t know what-which I could hear. The massage therapist went from massage my feet to touching my head & face without a whiff of hand sanitizer. When massage was done, I changed and exited the room to find no one waiting for me with at least water. I had to walk over to the next door building to checkout and at that point the therapist already had his jacket on and lingered waiting for a tip. Oh boy do I have a few tips for you! When I shared this experience the young woman at the desk then had the manager read it. And then the manager asks to me to recount it again and at each item she had a rationale and at which point I had to validate my experience. While I assume she was defending her employee, it is not her employees fault the equipment isn’t working. The best she was willing to offer was a 10% discount and no-charge for the hot stones. Thanks! Because if it wasn’t for the hot stones I would’ve dubbed this a cryotherapy massage!! I wouldn’t recommend this place. Which is disappointing because my bestie loves their full body scrubs. I strongly feel that I shouldn’t have had to pay for this. But by the time I realized that table was never going to work I felt I was stuck. Zero stars if possible.
All of the staff are warm and welcoming. It had been a while since my husband and I got massages so we were really looking forward to our spa day. It was also for my birthday and for those who know, its hard to arrange a babysitter now that we are parents! We were so happy and relaxed after our 90 minute couples massage. Our therapists were professional and had caring auras. Would highly recommend asking for Larissa and Susan! We are definitely going to do this for every birthday/special occasion/parent getaway.
I’m not new to receiving massage services with Kume, but I wanted to explore their menu a little more. I booked for the Korean Style Body Scrub yesterday and my experience was great! I arrived about 10 minutes prior to my appointment and started the Infrared Sauna. If you’re not comfortable in a smaller enclosed space then I would not suggest the Infrared Sauna. I sat for what felt like 5 minutes and felt like I was sweating out every toxin ever absorbed into my body. I loved it. The next part of the treatment was the actual scrub. Again, if you aren’t comfortable with being in the nude and someone scrubbing every nook and cranny front and back then this service is not for you. My skin is the softest and smoothest it’s ever been. There’s not a scrub in stores that can compare. You’re rinsed off throughout the service, but also given another chance to shower before getting dressed. The spaces I was in for treatments were clean and well kept. I enjoyed my service and the staff was friendly.
⭐☆☆☆☆ I’ve been to Kume Spa many times and usually had wonderful experiences, but my last visit for a body scrub was absolutely awful and, most importantly, unsafe. They sent me to a completely different location outside of the actual spa, with the entrance tucked next to a bike shop. From the start, the place looked sketchy and nothing like a professional spa. I was shocked that Kume would even send clients there. The room itself was tiny, dark, and right by the laundry area. It felt hidden, uncomfortable, and honestly unsafe. I’m claustrophobic, and I spent the entire treatment anxious and wanting to leave. The bed was also uncomfortable, making the experience even worse. To be clear, the technician did her best, but the environment was terrible. This setup felt more like some shady, makeshift operation than a trusted spa. ⚠️ If you’re considering booking a massage or body scrub here, please do not go to that outside area by the bike shop. It is ugly, unprofessional, and most importantly, it does not feel safe. Stick to the main spa area if you must go, but avoid this location at all costs.
