We visited La Buchette for dinner while vacationing outside of Quebec City. The atmosphere, food, and service were fantastic. The vibe is very cozy and home-like. The restaurant is outfitted with a brick and exposed wood interior, much taxidermy, and one half of a vehicle. The other half is located in their related restaurant, La Buche. Very very cool atmosphere with great music playing. I loved that the main meals were divided into general food, French food, and Quebecois food on the menu. My preference when traveling is to eat the local cuisine and this made it easy. My party of 2 ordered the house poutine with maple glazed pork belly as an appetizer. For our main meal, we ordered the Beef Bourguignon and the Tartiflette a l'Origine de Charlevoix. Both were fantastic! Aside from all of the great food and music, the service made our experience. I believe our waitress's name was Océane. She went above and beyond by sharing a hand-written list of recommendations for the next town we were visiting in Quebec. Highly recommend La Buchette if you are looking for a nice meal with a cozy atmosphere!
One of my favorite breakfast spots ever! So cozy and inviting. Service is friendly and thoughtful. Servers treat you like family. Try a maple latte! I think of these when I’m home in Florida! You won’t be disappointed with the 2 egg breakfast. The bacon is thick and delicious, the potato cakes crispy and fresh. Don’t forget a side of delicate crepe with fresh fruit and warm maple syrup. The ambience is so comforting and fun— not stuffy and dark. Love their playlist too! Dinner offers some creative dishes with a Quebecoise style. I love the tender halibut over the sweet potato puree and roasted vegetables with lemon and caper sauce— melt in your mouth! We have come here many times— with friend and family and will always return!
Absolutely loved this place. From the moment we walked in, the interior decor completely won us over its so unique and creative. The car hanging on the side of the wall is such a cool statement piece, and the collection of license plates from different places adds so much character and charm to the space. The service was just as impressive: warm, friendly, and very attentive without feeling overwhelming. We both ordered the brunch sampler and were pleasantly surprised by how incredibly tasty everything was every bite was delicious and well-prepared. The drinks were refreshing and reasonably priced, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a fantastic experience from ambiance to food to service. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it!
One of the warmest, most welcoming establishments we ate at while in the area. As Americans we’ve had a mix of greetings but the manager/owner here was so kind! We went in early without a reservation (id recommend a reservation as it got very busy) and he sat us with no issue. The food was incredible. The service was excellent. It was one of our favorite dining experiences of our trip! I’d recommend the burger or the pork belly in wine cream sauce. Both were 👌🏼
My husband and I ate here while visiting Quebec and we really enjoyed our meal. The servers were delightful, and the food was delicious. I ordered the tartiflette which was decadent. If creamy and cheesy is your thing, then I’d highly recommend it! My husband ordered the burger which he enjoyed. The maple pie dessert was made I bit like a Crème brûlée, and we loved it!! So so yummy!
