I expected quality products and reliable service from La-Z-Boy, especially at this price point. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. In late September, I purchased a leather couch and recliner (in stock), along with two custom bar stools and wall art. I was told the couch and recliner would be delivered that weekend, and the stools and artwork in 4–6 weeks. After hearing nothing for months, I called at the end of December and was told my order had been sitting at the store for over a month and was “overlooked.” Even then, delivery took another two weeks. Each bar stool cost $1,000, yet neither swivels smoothly. The wall art was delivered unwrapped with chipped and scratched edges exposing white plastic underneath. I was assured it would remain in the showroom until delivery and be damage-free, which clearly was not the case. The frame looks so damaged that I can’t even hang it. The lack of urgency, accountability, and concern throughout this process was unacceptable. I’ve lost all confidence in this retailer and will not be purchasing from La-Z-Boy again. I strongly recommend proceeding with caution. On a positive note, the couch and recliner themselves are great—but the service and handling ruined the overall experience.
ONLY 3 DAY RETURN PERIOD!!! $1300 collosal waste!!! Avoid at all costs!! Picked out a chair that (appeared) to be an above average option. (But average is not great... 2025...) Furniture in general has seen durability and quality flops. Few days after delivery, the chair showed it's true colors (3 day return is madness, imagine if that's how mattress returns work...) Went in store to compare after receiving, even more tragic than initially perceived... Summary of issues that have resulted in this being a regrettable decision: 1. Purchased chair with the "standard cushion", which sags/caves in very quickly ($140 for a reinforced cushion = normal cushion you'd get 10 years ago? ) 2. Quality of cushioning/stuffing in the back is disappointing, especially for a $1300 chair. 3. Support springs behind lower back cushion are pretty stiff compared to mid cushion (digs into my back in combination with the uneven cushioning) 4. Lower cushion seems to be overstuffed while the mid is understuffed 5. In general causes heat to build up quickly (combination of inferior synthetic fabric and cushioning most likely) 6. The rocking mechanism is more spongey than the one in the store, rocks very easily (lone 8 pound dog scratching neck will rock it almost fully..) 7. Leg fold out mechanism makes a concerning knocking sound on one side when lowering, doubt the durability is half of the model in store.
LOW QUALITY FURNITURE & ABSENT STORE MANAGEMENT. Tested a chair. It made a clunking noise. Tested same chair on floor, no noise. Told by 2 sales reps it was likely due to it being a floor model for a long time. One sales rep went on to further say the chair also recently held a Receiver for the Cardinals so a spring may have come loose. Bought that model. Delivered. 1st seating 1 minute, good. 2nd seating by 2nd member in home for 1 minute, good. Moved chair 3 in to be able to recline. 3rd seating, LOUD spring noise on one side and LOUD creaking on other side. Went back to the store the next day and voiced concerns over this happening the first 10 minutes after delivery. Was told CRAIG the MANAGER was out, back tomorrow, she left him a note in his desk to call me and submitted a repair request. FIRST: WHY DIDNT LA Z BIY JUST OFFER TO REPLACE IT OR REFUND IT? SECOND: NO CALL FROM CRAIG. I called, he was unavailable, so I left a message. No call. 5 days later no call from warranty repair or manager still so I call back and get put on the repair schedule for 2 weeks out. MUST HAVE A LOT OF REPAIRS...FURNITURE QUALITY GONE DOWNHILL. The warranty agent said she was leaving a message for CRAIG, BETTY AND SUSAN. THAT WAS 2 DAYS AGO. STILL NO CALL BACKS.
My wife and I visited our local Lazy-boy store with the intention of updating ourselves on their latest chair styles. Tracy our salesman, walked us through the different styles of Lazy-boy chairs, showing each of the models various features. We purchased a chair that really fits our needs. Above all, Tracy was very knowledgeable, great product knowledge and very easy to deal with. Great Experience! Anyone looking for comfortable furniture, I highly recommend the Chandler Lazy-boy store and just ask for Tracy.
