I am VERY upset and devastated. My kitten died because of your wrong diagnosis Dr. Randy… This was the second vet that I went to with my kitten and they diagnosed him to have worms… Fecal test came out: No parasites. I HAD TO CALL TO KNOW THE RESULT. They didn’t even care enough to call me back for test results. No next steps or anything after “no parasites” even though the receptionist told me she will ask the doctor and call me back. Till this day, I haven’t received a phone call. Dr. Randy seemed rushing through diagnosis, and it felt like he wants to be done with the appointment. I rushed my kitten to the ER when I saw that he can’t even stand on his feet and is waist down paralyzed. The ER said he had wet FIP and it is too late to save his life so unfortunately I had to euthanize him… I told Dr. Randy and the nurse about all the symptoms he had, and (after research) they all point towards FIP (lethargy, swollen belly, not interested in playing, always cold, his bones were obviously poking out) all that and they couldn’t test him for that or even suggesting tests to find out what is the fluid build up is in his belly. As a first time pet owner, I had to just go with whatever the vet says, but now I know for a fact that I won’t go to this vet ever again if I got a new pet.
The staff and team are nice, but unfortunately I haven’t had the best experience. I brought in a stray kitten and was told she was a certain age, though multiple other sources later said she was older. I was advised to spay her before her first heat, but when I called to schedule it, I was told it was too early. Within a week, she went into heat. When I called back to have her spayed, I was told the procedure would now be more expensive because she was in heat. I understand there can be added considerations, but I did try to schedule it earlier and was advised to wait. I also called multiple times asking to speak with the vet to make a plan and was told someone would follow up, but no one did. Overall, very frustrating. I live close so was hoping to make this our vet for our pets.
My one year old cat had ringworm. I took him to see the vet in the clinic. They prescribed him Itrafungol. They didn't warn me that I needed to watch my cat's eating habits. They didn't warn me the strong side effects of the medication. They didn't tell me when to stop the medication. I did what they told me to feed my cat the medication every other week. My cat finished 2/3 of the bottle of the medication. All of sudden he stopped eating for four days. I took him to the clinic. They told me he might have liver issues. Last time I took him for ringworm diagnosis. They told me my cat was very healthy. Today I took him to the clinic. They told me my cat is very sick. I asked them my cat has been really healthy and lively why all of sudden he has liver issue. He is only one year old. I asked them if it has anything to do with Itrafungol. They said it is possible. I came home and check Itrafungol. I realized it has very strong side effects on the liver of the cat and I should have stopped feeding him the medication on the third time. I am a bit disappointed that the clinic never mentioned that to me. To me, it feels like the ringworm hasn't gone completely now my cat developed other issues.
The absolute best care I have gotten for my mini dachshund. They are so kind and transparent with cost. Highly recommend!!
I am so grateful to have discovered this little gem on the West side of Houston. Dr. Wiltshire runs a top tier practice. As soon as you walk in the door you are warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. Making appointments is a breeze and the follow-up is amazing. The Vet techs are so patient and compassionate and the Vets are the best in the business! Thank you for taking such good care of us.
