We stopped in on a whim and I'm so glad I did, I had the most incredible peach pastry here. It was called the "croissant aux fruits", featuring glazed peaches and cream in a flaky, crispy pastry. My husband had a ham pastry which he enjoyed as well, and we shared the "au jardin" which was very good too.
I am a solo traveler from Japan. The kouign-amann was absolutely delicious. Despite my limited English, the customer service was excellent. Especially the staff member with short blonde hair wearing a mask — she was very kind and welcoming. If I have the chance to come back, I will definitely buy it again!
Ordered: Champignons – Mushrooms with a mild sauce. Decent, but $7 felt like a bit of a stretch for what you get. Strawberry & Fall Spice Macarons – Way too sweet; one bite was enough. Couldn’t bring myself to finish another. Pain au Chocolat – Standard croissant with chocolate inside. Nothing extraordinary. The hype and crowd around the place might make you want to try everything, but honestly, you’d be better off exploring other local options. The sugar-heavy, bland French bakery items aren’t worth it. Feels a bit like a rant, but the cost doesn’t match the taste nothing particularly special here.
This place is amazing. The pastries are fresh and full of flavor, and the sandwiches are just as good. If you want a sandwich, make sure to stop by around 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. — they don’t have them out early, and they go fast once they do. The coffee is delicious, and it pairs perfectly with one of their croissants or tarts. There’s usually a line when you get there, but it moves quickly. The best time to go is right after that first morning rush and before the market fully opens. The whole place smells like butter and espresso, and it’s worth every minute of the wait. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Seattle. Five stars all the way.
