This bakery was the highlight of our trip. The loco moco exceeded our expectations, and the baked goods were just as delicious. We’d absolutely come back—plus, there are so many great souvenirs to bring a piece of Hawaiʻi home.
Reviews showed higher for good reason. We found a seat at the diner counter, as there are no tables. My wife and I enjoyed perhaps the best Mahi Mahi sandwich we've ever had. Fish was perfectly grilled, sandwich stuffed with lettuce, sprouts, tomatoes, great sauce with pickles on the side. Almost melted in my mouth. Also got the chicken teriyaki sticks. They were also excellent.
Long line out the door but it was worth the wait. The mochi donut and passion fruit cupcake were my favorites. The ladies serving were very nice. The friendly locals in the line were very helpful and gave me some good tips on where to go for dim sum.
Honestly, just amazing.. The original one and the best. Classic island style diner experience. All the classics - Hawaiian sweet bread French toast slabs, Mac-nut waffle, loco moco.. Flame grilled Cheeseburger deluxe so good too.. Can’t really go wrong.. The old ladies aren’t up for talking much but they sure do a great job. ❤️
This place is busy! It will take a while if you plan to dine in. I picked up some coco puffs and they are indeed da bomb! The butter rolls are also great! Watch out for some roosters and chickens loitering around as might run them over. Just order your chosen items ahead of time and pick it up. One and done!
