Went to a watercolours class yesterday and met Andrea, our teacher for the session. Very welcoming and great set up. Spent the morning doing a watercolour of Ashness bridge, guided of course. I learnt so much in short time, did not feel silly asking questions. Would highly recommend this class and it’s very reasonable . Will go again

Have attended a Christmas Saturday watercolour session this morning and a few of the Rough Trade life drawing sessions recently. Both teachers are wonderfully encouraging and clearly skilful and knowledgeable. Sessions are very well organised. Will definitely continue doing more sessions going forward ❤️

The first time I went to LIAS was for a Saturday introduction to watercolour class. I enjoyed it so much that I started attending the regular Tuesday morning watercolour classes. Since then, I have also been to a couple more themed sessions on a Saturday. From the first time I walked through the studio doors, and every time since, I have always felt welcome and supported; the tutors are amazing and I have learnt SO much! I can’t recommend highly enough.

Really enjoy my classes with LIAS I joined as an absolute beginner but everyone has been so supportive and friendly that in no time at all I was experimenting with different art techniques. There’s a lovely friendly vibe in the class and I always look forward to each class, I’ve learnt so much.

My experience at the Liverpool Independent Art School just gets better and better. When we couldn't meet face to face during lockdown they kept us going with online classes and zoom seminars, the latter of which are still ongoing every week. We receive expert tuition, regular visits to galleries and exhibitions, and the whole ambiance with the tutors and students is so friendly and welcoming, I can honestly say we are like one big happy family! The new venue at the John Archer Hall is excellent, affording us more space and more time for a variety of classes and workshops. We are so lucky to be a part of this, and I would recommend it to anyone with an interesting in art and learning. You will not be disappointed!
