The food was great (rack of lamb, veal, and lobster ravioli). We really liked the Tricolore Salad (healthy and delicious). The music was to our liking, not too loud and annoying. Service was outstanding. Robert our waiter and Conor his assistant were very attentive, polite, and professional from start to finish. We will be back soon to try more dishes.
A coworker told me about this elegant, comfortable Italian restaurant in Long Beach. The bartender Miguel and his team are really friendly, and great conversation. I had the Agnello AI Carciofi ( New Zealand Rack of Lamb) OMG it was so very good. The service is Amazing and the atmosphere is relaxing but yet a little upscale. The Brussels Sprouts were not too good stay away from them. When you come make sure to ask for their house special drink....Chocolate Cake. It's too die for..
Wonderful experience. We went for an early dinner on a Tuesday, so the restaurant was fairly calm for most of our dinner and didn’t start to get busy until we were near the end of our dinner. We brought our little one, and the employees were very accommodating in helping us use the wheelchair lift and finding a table that accommodates a bassinet. When baby was getting fussy near the end of dinner and we had to get going, they helped us leave quickly and with no stress. Our waiter was, Scott, a sommelier, who went above and beyond with service. He was friendly, prompt, and extremely knowledgeable. He recommended to us our new favorite wine! The food was delicious and the restaurant interior was beautiful. Only con was that it was a little warm inside, I think around 79 degrees, but we didn’t bring it up to anyone because we were having a great time regardless. Will definitely be coming back soon!
This was my first time dining at this historic Long Beach restaurant. Fun fact: the building at 101 Pine Avenue was originally the First National Bank of Long Beach, built in 1906, and now houses a true icon. My review is specifically for the Rombauer wine pairing dinner held last Saturday in their Wine Cellar literally built inside the old bank vault, which gives the evening a unique, atmospheric charm. To top it off, the restaurant was also celebrating its 35th anniversary. Phil (representing the restaurant) and Mike from Rombauer were both very informative and engaging throughout the night. As a Sauvignon Blanc kind of girl, I was surprised to discover that I actually preferred their Chardonnay something I didn’t expect! Shoutout to Scott, who poured at our table he was attentive and made sure everyone was well taken care of. Two of us at the table are pescatarians, and they made sure everything was correct right from the start, which I really appreciated. The courses were thoughtful and well-paired: 1st Course: Tuna with mango and bell pepper chutney, paired with Sauvignon Blanc light, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. 2nd Course: Bay scallops paired with Chardonnay the dish that actually made me fall for Chardonnay. 3rd Course: Wild mushroom ravioli paired with Pinot Noir not usually a red wine fan, but this pairing worked beautifully. I love mushrooms, and this dish was delicious. 4th Course: Some type of white fish (maybe seabass?) paired with Cabernet Sauvignon. By this point, the buzz had fully set in, so forgive me for not remembering the details, but I know I enjoyed it! 5th Course: Dessert… by then I was fully committed to my “liquid diet,” so I skipped eating it to save the calories for more wine. Overall, this was such a fun and memorable evening. Great people, great food, great wine, and a truly unique setting. I’ll definitely be back to experience a regular dining night at this iconic Long Beach spot.
Cozy, classic Italian vibe. Warm lighting, dark wood feel. Expect lively crowd. Tables packed in pretty close, might not get much space or quiet. Noise can get pretty loud. Staff are usually rushing to keep up, so service might feel a bit distracted. The food, however, is impressive — rich in flavor, well-balanced, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Loved the food here! If you’re in the mood for good Italian and don’t mind crowd, noise, and elbow room, this place delivers.
