I recently purchased a gold necklace from this jewellery store and had a wonderful experience. The staff were very professional and had great taste. They gave thoughtful and knowledgeable advice, especially about the chain length and how to match it with the gemstone. Their suggestions really helped me choose the perfect piece. The location is also very convenient and easy to find. Even though it’s in a popular tourist area, the prices are very reasonable. Overall, a great place to shop for jewellery. I purchased 18K gold wedding bands from Lovelle for myself and my wife, with a total spend of around $3,700 AUD. When we returned to collect the rings, my wife’s ring felt noticeably tighter than the sample she had originally tried on. When we raised this, we were told that hot weather might have affected the fit. However, the day we first placed the order was over 40°C in Sydney, while the pickup day was much cooler, so this explanation did not seem consistent with our experience. Because the fit felt different, I asked for both rings to be weighed in store. Based on those measurements, we found that both finished rings were significantly lighter than the original CAD estimates. The men’s band CAD estimate was 5.4g and the ring measured about 4.1g at pickup. The ladies’ band CAD estimate was 5.2g and the ring measured about 3.9g. The staff apologised and explained that this was a workshop mistake. As our wedding date was very close, the rings had to be remade and we were provided with temporary gold bands for the ceremony. I appreciate that Lovelle eventually remade the rings at no additional cost. However, the temporary ring for my wife was much tighter than expected and uncomfortable for her to wear. After the wedding, we had to return again to collect the remade bands. In the end, we did receive the correct rings, but the overall process involved extra visits, repeated emails, and unnecessary stress close to our wedding. My main concern is that many customers may not think to check the final weight of their rings at collection. In our case, the difference was significant enough that I believe it should have been identified before pickup. Although the issue was eventually corrected, the overall experience was disappointing for a purchase of this value.
