At the time of treatment, my acne was mild. I was advised that Dr Nicole only treats severe acne cases and that proceeding with a nurse would be appropriate. Based on this advice, I agreed to continue treatment under a nurse’s care. I would like to acknowledge that throughout my interactions, the reception team has always been welcoming, friendly, and professional. The AviClear treatment process involved cleansing my face with industrial acetone, applying ice packs, and using the AviClear laser. I was advised to complete three sessions spaced one month apart, with the expectation that my acne would gradually improve over time. AviClear is an expensive treatment, and unfortunately, in my case, it not only failed to improve my acne but caused it to worsen significantly. Over the following months, my acne progressively deteriorated. Ten months after treatment, my active acne had become severe, despite starting from a mild condition. The spread and worsening of my acne was extremely distressing. What I find particularly concerning is the complete lack of aftercare or follow-up from the clinic during this period. Given the cost of the treatment and the deterioration of my condition, not receiving any follow-up until nearly twelve months later reflects very poor service and a lack of patient care. Due to the worsening of my acne and the absence of support, I sought treatment elsewhere. The new place used an AI machine to scan deeply into my skin in which they informed me that the layers of my skin are deeply inflamed and damaged which is usually from strong laser treatment (at the time I did not inform them that I underwent aviclear but the machine told them). The new place advised me that they have to repair the skin barrier layer first before they could do any acne treatment. AviClear damaged my skin barrier and took me a while to repair this before I could do acne treatment. If there was adequate follow up, Lumiere could have picked this up sooner and helped repair my skin - but they did not. Since going to the new clinic, my active acne has since been resolved, and I am now undergoing treatment for post-acne scarring. When I was contacted by Lumiere linic approximately twelve months later for follow-up, I explained my experience and my concerns regarding the lack of aftercare. I was advised that Dr Nicole could offer a video consultation; however, as my active acne had already been successfully treated elsewhere, I no longer had a reason to return to Lumiere. Additionally, I wish to raise a concern regarding the hygiene and professionalism of the nurse who performed my treatment. She appeared to be a smoker, and her hands smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. As she was positioned very close to my face during the procedure, I could smell smoke on her breath throughout the treatment. This was an unpleasant and unhygienic experience. I am extremely disappointed with the outcome of my treatment and the lack of support provided afterward. Perhaps someone with mild acne such as mine did not need an extreme treatment like Aviclear but an alternative and I was advised wrongly. It costs me more time and money to repair the damage that this clinic has caused me.

Unfortunately, I had a really bad post-accutane experience in this clinic even though since 2023 and after 2 rounds of Accutane, my skin looked flawless. When my acne had come back, with comedones and only 1-2 pimples here and there, I was recommended AviClear. After 2 sessions, even though it was evident from the 1st session too, my face was full with inflammatory pimples which I never had in my entire life. I am very disappointed that I was not told of other cases which had the exact same experience and I was only told about a ‘purging’ phase which was not the problem in my case. Unfortunately , I cannot undo what has been done and it took me months to recover, and I wish the dermatologist, who I trusted, had reached out to me when I sent my pictures and the really bad results to help me

Nicole has been so helpful and pleasant. When I was struggling to get an appointment she called me to help sort it out. I have been going to her clinic for years and she has always been extremely friendly and remembered parts of my personal life too.

My daughter has been attending the Lumiere skin clinic since January this year. She had really bad Comedones under her skin on her face which we had tried every product over the last couple of years and nothing had worked. She had even tried the contraceptive pill and still no better. She was very conscious of her skin and it effected her confidence we then found Lumiere. Anelia has been treating her now for several months and it is definitely making a difference (even though not still fully clear) which we have been told is normal. All the ladies are very welcoming to us when we arrived and my daughter loves Anelia,she always so caring towards her. Hopefully one day she will be fully clear. 🤞🏼

I went to see Dr.Nicole Chiang for alopecia in my beard area after my GP told me they didn’t really know what to do. Nicole was fantastic from the start. She listened patiently, thoroughly reviewed my condition, and worked to find the exact reason behind it. She carefully explained what treatments would and wouldn’t work, and suggested the right medication for me. In a few months, I started to see hair regrowth in the bald patches. I can’t thank her enough. She’s a true star and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate and effective dermatologist.
