Lurie Children's Primary Care - Town & Country Pediatrics

If I could rate Town and Country Pediatrics 0 stars, I would. Their policies are divisive. They do not care about the health of your child. Find a practice who truly cares about the health of your child. Healthcare should be about partnership and individualized care, especially when it comes to children. Instead, this practice seems more interested in enforcing blanket policies than listening to or working with concerned parents. It's disheartening to be turned away from a pediatrician not because of any immediate medical risk or poor behavior, but because we asked for flexibility in how we approach our child's health. Families deserve doctors who respect medical autonomy and can handle conversations with nuance and compassion. Unfortunately, this office does not meet that standard. I won’t let the door hit us on the way out.

FTM here. Literally delivered a baby a week ago—c section. Had a first time patient scheduled visit today. Email clearly gives parking directions to a totally different hospital down the street. I am late because the parking garage is FULL, I call the office (15 mins prior to appointment time) to let them know I’d be late due to parking..I walk into the hospital— was told by a receptionist that I don’t have an appointment.. went by the hospital directory desk— receptionist advised me that their location is actually 7 minutes away and that they have multiple locations. I then call the office and advise them again, I’d be late since their instructions weren’t clear..I then WALK to the building, arrive just to be told that the staff wants to take lunch and I am too late, my visit has to be rescheduled. I declined. I get downstairs with my child and husband— all for them to call me and tell me that the doctor can actually see me…. Again.. FTM mom who JUST HAD A C SECTION a week ago, WALKING around Chicago just for a simple appointment. Now I could have just went back upstairs but no, the office definitely doesn’t deserve my business if an email isn’t clear as day. I then receive a call about an hour later, offering a later appointment.. I paid $38 worth of parking at a hospital that they aren't even located in, why would I want to return and pay AGAIN? Definitely will stick to private practices that are more organized when giving instructions on how to get to their office/obtain parking WITHIN the facility. Prenatal and New borns should NEVER be turned away, especially for first time visit’s.

Apparently, asking a pediatrician a couple of questions during a routine check-up now qualifies as premium content — because I was hit with a surprise bill after a very standard well-baby visit. During the visit, I mentioned two minor concerns (formula-related spit-up and delayed rolling). The doctor reassured me that neither issue required follow-up or immediate intervention. She casually offered an optional referral to a physical therapist but made it clear it wasn’t urgent. No procedures were performed, no treatment plan was initiated — just reassurance, an optional referral, and a few formula samples. Yet, the visit was billed as both a preventive check-up and a problem-oriented office visit, leading to an unexpected charge. At no point was I informed that my casual questions would result in split billing. When I spoke to their billing department, they essentially shrugged and said it’s "common practice" and there's nothing they can do. When I followed up with their office manager, she said she would speak with billing and later informed me that everything had been billed correctly. I then requested a written explanation of the billing decision, including supporting documentation and a copy of their policy on split coding. To obtain that, I was directed to a generic records email. I later received a call from that department asking me to clarify what I was looking for — which made it clear this isn’t a question they get often. I’m still waiting to receive anything in writing. After spending hours trying to resolve this, I finally gave in and paid the bill — not because I agreed with it, but because I was out of time and patience. I’ve now made the difficult decision to transfer my children’s care elsewhere — not because of the doctors, who are excellent, but because I can’t trust the system behind them to bill ethically or communicate transparently.

We moved to Chicago couple months ago, we were carefully searching for a reliable pediatrician. I was a little bit hesitate to come here when I saw some not great reviews. But after three times of visits we finally found the Dr that suits our needs. Dr. Jessica Lee was very caring and unjudgmental. She listened and gave good advises that were very helpful. All the nurses were very nice and efficient they all know what they are doing. Also when I call the office to ask some questions when my son was sick, they were super helpful by telling me what to look for and if we need immediate attention. My overall experience were good, would highly recommend this office.

I've had experience with many difference pediatricians due to moving, Lurie Town and Country is hands down the best group of pediatricians I've encountered. The team of nurses and pediatricians they have are ALL so empathetic to children. On our first visit my children grabbed the doctor's gloves, instead of getting upset, she happily played along and just grabbed another set. They also don't push medications or unnecessary treatments for money (some former pediatricians did). They have a ton of expertise and refer you to the extensive network of Lurie specialists if needed. I also really appreciate how you can call nurses any time of the day and can be seen the same day or next day if the child is sick because they do have many pediatricians on the team. The space is always very clean and organized.
