Why did I not visit sooner!! I’m disappointed that I did not come here sooner! The food is incredible, the price is very reasonable, the service is excellent and my oh my the drinks. It all wraps up to being a-maiz-ing…..sorry I had to go there! I’ll say no more, visit and let Maiz leave you as we were, wanting more. Currently working out when we go back.

Not sure what upside-down realm iteration of this place I went to but a very different experience to what was expected. $70pp set menu where the only mildly enjoyable element was a soup in a huskee cup…. But you can’t keep the cup. Cevicé tostada was inedible - and I’ll eat some awkward stuff. Just so fishy and sort of par-cooked and confusing with the appearance of boiled chicken. Maybe it was old fish so they figured they should heat it up to be safe? Duck for the main was as if it was chucked in the slow cooker….. alone…. For hours…. Then covered In a grease soaked corn pancake. Great looking mole sauce that tasted of nothing whatsoever. A woman who walked past pointed at the restaurant and said ‘crazy good authentic Mexican’….. and it all hurt even more. I couldn’t make the maths work on how this little spread was charged at $140 for two… unless the chips and guac were $98 (also quite good to be fair) Oh and please nobody ask me about the horchata icy pole. It’s a nice spot to sit and the service was fine but I can’t get the smell of old fish out of my hands so it’s a thumbs down.

LOVED THIS!! we tried one of the set menus and it was the perfect amount of food and a great intro to the menu for us as we hadn’t been before and were unsure what to order. Great drinks and we had a lovely waitress also

Delicious food — every dish bursts with flavor; dining here is truly an experience. The place is cozy, and the staff are very friendly. It was great to explore traditional Mexican food and I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but flavours were heavenly. volcan de pulpo with octopus - this was also perfect to share. The octopus was incredibly tender, but the small unassuming cup of consome was the star - slightly spicy yet refreshing with every little sip.

Unforgettable food — every dish bursts with flavor; dining here is truly an experience. The place is cozy, and the staff are very friendly. I want to come back with all my friends to show them what I’ve discovered: the best restaurant in Sydney so far.
