My mother and I recently visited the Maple Leaf Souvenirs store. We were looking to buy a pair of Canada-themed T-shirts as gifts for friends. The gentleman who assisted us, Waleed, was extremely kind, friendly, and helpful. He helped us find the right sizes and colors, and made the whole experience very pleasant. We were very satisfied with our purchase and with the excellent customer service provided by Waleed. The next time I need to buy Canada-themed items as gifts, I will definitely return to this store.

The store is ok but the service is rude. The employee winnow the magnet to my friend and he was rude if you just look over the t-shirts. It does not worth it at all.

I wish, I could give a zero. I had a very upsetting experience at this gift shop. While I was there near buy a restaurant with my family so I thought, I should buy a souvenir for friends and relatives.I observed the cashier warmly greeting every customer—except me. The only difference? I’m Indian. When I approached the counter, there was no greeting, no eye contact, nothing. Just cold silence. It was impossible to ignore the obvious difference in how I was treated compared to the non-Indian customers before me. When my sister asked for a bag, he bluntly said "no." Yet just minutes earlier, he gave a bag to a non-Indian customer without hesitation. To make things worse, the cashier didn’t even bother to give me a receipt. My sister had to ask for it, and even then, the interaction felt dismissive and uncomfortable. Discrimination—whether subtle or blatant—has no place in customer service. Every customer deserves to be treated with basic respect and courtesy, regardless of their background. I’m extremely disappointed and will not be returning. Management needs to seriously address how customers are being treated here.

Best cigar prices and friendliest staff in Ottawa. The guys here know everything about the city. Great stop for tourists as well. Highly recommended.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The worker was EXTREMELY racist. He profiled my sister and I when we were looking at merchandise, and glared at us the entire time we were in the store. As we were leaving he insinuated that we stole something. NEVER go here if you are a person of color or someone with a moral compass.
