I'm taking the time to write this review because it's important for people to know our real experience. In 2020, we consulted Me Maxime Lapointe regarding an immigration case that was crucial for our family. At the time, my partner Camille only had a one-year work permit, tied to the duration of her insurance and an unhelpful decision by the customs officer. The situation was stressful and complex, and we were looking for solutions, not a quick verdict. The consultation, which cost approximately $240, lasted about 20 minutes instead of the scheduled 30, including waiting time. From the outset, the tone was condescending. There was no attempt to find a solution, no in-depth analysis, no scenarios considered. The message was clear: case lost, return to France recommended, end of story (verdict in 20 minutes… unbelievable!). I had the distinct impression that as soon as the case deviated from the straightforward approach, his interest vanished. The exchange seemed rushed, with an obvious eagerness to end it. When I tried to ask a follow-up question afterward, I was told that additional advice would cost extra, even though the initial consultation had yielded absolutely nothing concrete. The most frustrating part? That conclusion was wrong. We then contacted another reputable lawyer in Montreal, who actually took the time to analyze the situation, explore several options, and guide us. The result: the problem was resolved, and today, my partner and I are Canadian citizens. Telling a family that all is lost, without digging deeper, without offering alternatives, and causing enormous stress, is serious. Perhaps Ms. Lapointe is effective for simple, standard cases. But as soon as the situation becomes complex, our experience demonstrates a severe lack of involvement, listening skills, and professionalism. We are not grateful for this experience. Your intervention has mainly generated anxiety and discouragement, where solutions already existed. I share this opinion so that others can make an informed choice!

I want to sincerely thank you for all the help and support you provided us during this very difficult time. Following the refusal of my spouse's open work permit extension, your professionalism, sound advice, and your decision to submit a letter requesting reopening and reconsideration to IRCC changed everything. Thanks to your intervention, our case was reopened, allowing my spouse to return to work. You literally saved our family. Thank you, Maître, you are the best.

Mr. Lapointe was a great help to me with my rather complex situation. He presented me with the available options, outlining the pros and cons of each, so I could make an informed decision. He was efficient, responsive, and truly took the time to find a solution for me. Regardless of the outcome (good or bad), a person's professionalism and the time they invest should not be overlooked. Thank you again, Mr. Lapointe.

Maxime La Pointe didn't solve my problem and took my $250 consultation fee plus tax, only to tell me he couldn't do anything. Why accept money from the world only to then say you can't do anything? I don't find that honest.
