Eataly in North Adelaide! Moving forward from their traditional roots at Campbelltown, the new concept store in North Adelaide is a sophisticated, upmarket venue. Beautiful modern interior, providing a great experience. Offering the best in Italian food and beverage goods, wines and take home food options. Specialising in small goods, fresh pasta, seafood, ready made lasagne trays, pizza. Freshly cut cheese and salumi stations are a condensed version of their previous location. This visit included lunch and few take home small goods. Lunch started with silicon olives and a prosciutto plate. The olives were basic, the prosciutto melted in your mouth, perfect with the sourdough which is ordered separately. Two pasta dishes for main included penne nap, and the pork pasta dish. Both dishes had very good flavour, and the pork pasta had a nice hit of chilli. Food overall was very good. And we will be back to try more. We noticed all staff are new from previous location and need to explain dining a little more as several people were asking how do we order. Before leaving we also purchased pizza, ciabatta rolls and fresh small goods. pizza was great, light and tasty but received a shock when paying as the pricing wasn’t by the slice, it was per 100g. I’ll cop that for not reading it properly. 4 slices totalled $39! Prices throughout the store are expensive which reflect the new premises, location and quality of the products. Overall experience was very good, highly recommend a visit. Lunch for 2 cost $130 plus our extras.
3 to be redeemed hopefully on my next visit! Great Italian grocery and deli store with a variety of options at awesome prices. The new restaurant/ bar was super busy which made us super excited for the food we ordered. Unfortunately on the day like many other customers we had to wait up to an hour for a small amount of food which was due to a printer error in the kitchen. This would’ve been fine to understand if our waitress we asked about the food was a lot nicer. Tall younger girl, obviously hasn’t had heaps of experience in hospitality was extremely sassy and threw shade when we asked for our food. Food finally came and it was just okay due to the cold temperature food which has to be potential to be a lot better.
Looking for a great place to shop, eat, and unwind? Mercato has it all! The setup is impressive, and they even offer a convenient grab-and-go section with fresh food and delicious freshly baked breads. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the overall experience is always enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Food - stringy prosciutto my fiancee and I had to spit it out. Olives lovely. Oysters ok. Had to ask for an oyster fork. Service - terrible. Had to wait by a pole in the middle of the business to be served. Fish in a fish bowl. Glass was on an angle - so odd. Table was not cleared. Atnosphere - loud! Ppl everywhere, needs to be proper sectioning. Service area of deli should be facing other way not toward eating area. Crammed. Won’t be back. BUT bought a lot of produce. Some extravagant prices some very well priced. Never know what you’re going to get. Sorry about stringy spat out food photos!
I understand this is a new restaurant but food was a hit or miss. You can’t really go wrong with the combo in the prosciutto dish, so that was really good, but was quite pricey for the portion size. The paccheri with pork sausage was yum. The spaghetti lacked flavour and the plating was quite lousy for the price point of the restaurant. The service was a bit disappointing as it felt quite disorganised among the staff and it was quite difficult waving someone down to order. You also really don’t need two waiters to bring 3 plates. My latte was tasty despite not having any latte art. Overall I hope experience in this new environment will improve their service and also their food quality. I also bought a whole sourdough and a slice of takeaway tiramisu which were both very yummy.
