We brought our dogs in for their free trial and are so excited to come back! Clean, well-run facility and the staff is truly wonderful. Highly recommend MetroDog! 🐾
Very good experiences with metro dog thus far. We needed a long term daycare provider as our house was going under construction for 1.5 months. They tire out our 7 month puppy at a good price using the 20 day puppy packs. Our dog passed the trial run before he was 6 months, and he’s always excited to show up. The only thing to consider is there’s no camera provided in the space to your mobile device so you don’t know what your dog is doing all day so when our puppy comes homes and whines, it’s hard to tell if he’s tired or if he needs to burn more energy via a walk (we assume the former). He’s definitely become more vocal at home since being a regular there, but we don’t mind during play.
My doodle, Sammie, goes nuts when she knows it daycare day at Metro Dogs! She's soooo tired when she gets home which is awesome for us humans. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Great work, team Metro! I'm a fan.
I was very disappointed with my experience here. I brought my puppy twice, first at seven months old, and again at 11 months, and both times he was turned away for being “too playful,” even though he wasn’t showing any signs of aggression. He’s a friendly, well-socialized dog with great recall and just loves interacting with other dogs. I was advised to give him more training, but I don’t believe in training a dog not to play with other dogs. It left me wondering what kind of temperament they’re actually looking for. It almost felt like they have a very specific dynamic already in place, and may not be open to dogs who are high-energy or new to the group. It’s also hard to believe that every dog they currently have gets along perfectly. I also asked about how the dogs are managed throughout the day, whether they use treats for training or engagement, but it didn’t seem like the handlers were very hands-on. This was my first choice since I live nearby, but after exploring other options in Ballard, I found them to be more reasonable. I’d recommend looking elsewhere before choosing this place.
So I have not been to Metro Dog exactly but I did sit in on the Metro Dog staff's "Walks & Wags Pet First Aid" class and it was excellent. It was held out at Fleet Reserve Association Branch 310 in Silverdale, WA, was a ten hour course and really was completely worth it. It's a lot of information but I really thought that everyone did a really good job of keeping us attention deficit folks on track. I would definitely recommend to all who can make the trip!
