I am deeply grateful to Miami Animal Clinic and all the staff who work there. They saved the life of my little puppy, Carmela. We went in on a Thursday at 7 p.m. after I noticed blood in her stool and a sudden drop in her energy. Dr. Lorente saw her right away, and from the very beginning he was incredibly kind and gentle with her. They performed a fecal test and a parvo test, and unfortunately Carmela tested positive for Parvo. Dr. Lorente was always honest and compassionate. He explained the seriousness of the illness and let us know from the start that there was only about a 50% chance of survival due to the severity of the virus. Even so, the entire team gave us hope and constant support. They allowed us to visit Carmela every day, which gave us peace of mind knowing she was in a safe, caring environment. Don Leo and Don Mario are truly amazing people who treat every animal with love and patience. They were kind to us every single day and never made us feel rushed during our visits. Carmela was hospitalized for five days and was discharged with all the medications she needed to continue her treatment at home. Because Parvo weakens the immune system, Carmela later developed kennel cough. I called the clinic, and they helped us on Christmas Day. They examined her, provided the necessary medication, and let her go home with us again.
