When Penny was here(you called her Penny), she was always friendly, professional, and did an excellent job grooming my dog. But since Leo took over, the quality has dropped a lot. Today, when I picked up my dog, Leo checked the coat and said everything was fine. Later, after I got home, he called me saying I had to pay extra for detangling. If he had told me before I left, I could’ve brushed it myself because I always bring my own brush. I even waited outside for about 5 minutes before leaving, so there was plenty of time to mention it. When he called, he didn’t listen at all and just kept talking over me, repeating his own points without letting me speak. When I went back and asked which part was tangled, I brushed it all out myself — it took me less than five minutes. Honestly, they seem to need a better quality brush because the one I use works much better than theirs. I also told Leo that I just wanted the same process as when Penny was here — to check the coat and let me know before I leave if there’s any issue. But he said he couldn’t do that, and that Penny had 10 years of experience while he only had 5. I told him that regardless of his experience, I pay the same price, so I expect the same level of communication and service. If he can’t mention things in advance and wants to charge extra later, then that’s his choice — but whether I keep bringing my dog here or not will also be my choice. The shop once posted photos of my dog and my sister’s dog on their Instagram account without our permission, which I found very unprofessional. Because communication was so poor and issues weren’t mentioned in advance, I was told I might not be able to come back. Leo offered to refund the remaining credit, which I accepted. It only took five minutes to brush out the matting — something Penny would have handled immediately with no problem. Instead, Leo insisted on either cutting the hair, charging an extra 30 minutes, or having me come back — all without giving prior notice. This is completely unreasonable. If he can’t provide the same quality service as someone more experienced, he shouldn’t charge the same price. I’ve been coming here for two years, and this is the first time I’ve experienced such unprofessional behavior. Penny was so much more skilled, polite, and caring — it’s really disappointing how much the service has gone downhill since she left.

Mikeneko are honestly the BEST! We’ve been taking our dogs there ever since they’ve opened. Leo is honestly one of the gentlest and most talented groomers we’ve experienced. Our dogs get excited everytime they get to go to Mikeneko and get their special spa treatments 🩷

Our Miniature Poodle Daisy has been groomed regularly by Penn. there is no doubt in my mind that MikeNeko is the best dog groomer we have found in Adelaide. Professional, exemplary standard of hygiene and cleanliness, highly skilled groomer, punctual, transparent in their service and well priced. I highly recommend the team.

I have been to many pet stores in Adelaide and Melbourne, this is my favorite because I can basically get whatever I need for my princess eg, big range of cans and treats. Best quality grooming service and reasonable price products. Can’t stop visiting the store to get something new for my cat. Highly recommended!!! The store is located at an easy-to-find street, and multiple street parking there available, never had a problem with car parking.

To be clear - I was clear in my communication and I was *not* satisfied. I was specific about three things, they just cut the dog however they liked and he looks like a feminine poodle. One of the three things was "not like a poodle". I guess they heard "like a poodle". Really disappointed. After leaving this review they emailed me to say my review is dishonest. Ick. I've attached images. We asked for mohawk down to neck, beard under his chin, and not like a poodle. Even our dog looks in shock.
