We are very disappointed with the legal advice we received from James Hallagan. He advised my husband to attend his immigrant visa interview at the consulate in Ciudad Juarez without warning us that he could be denied because of prior work on a tourist visa. My husband did ask him a few times and was told that this wouldn’t be an issue. Even if the risk was small, we deserved to be told the truth. My husband was denied for this very reason. He now must go through an I-601 waiver and that is costly and can take years for an approval.The distance and uncertainity destroyed our marriage and we are headed towards divorce. I recommend that anyone in a similar situation get more informed before proceeding.
