This is most definitely another hidden gem, I decided to go out browsing on a whim looking for just ideas for my upcoming wedding, after my third shop I was completely over it, but my sister says let’s try this one which was modern bride. We were greeted by a lovely woman and I hate I can’t remember her name but she was so AMAZING, first she started with basic questions then she started pulling dresses for me to try on. Literally, after the third dress I got a feeling that “it was the one” but of course I said no, let me keep going after trying on two more I asked it if I could go back to my original favorite, of course it was my dress. I was a bit concerned they didn’t have my true size but she assured me she knew what to order and everything would be fine. Then, she took out a veil and placed it on my head, and just like that a bride was born. Of course, it’s a process so I order it then 6weeks later it arrived. That’s when I met Johnny the owner genuinely a great person you can just tell. He’s not trying to get over on anyone has great energy really friendly and down to earth. The prices are within everyone’s budget the have a good range and ALL sizes. They also have an excellent tailor Jario who the work with who came right over to the shop, did his thing and two weeks later I’m all set. If you’re looking for a dress or alterations please check this place out you will not be disappointed. Side note the tailor does have his own shop a block or so away but will come to modern bride if it’s easier for you. I park in the lot two stores down it was $10 all day.

With my limited interaction with this shop, it showed it was not size-inclusive and has no intention to be. After doing my own research I selected this shop based on it's beautiful gowns and designs from Justin Alexander, who is a fairly size-inclusive designer ranging up to size 26. When I reached out to make an appointment I shared I was around a size 20 and wanted reassurance that there were options for me at this shop. I was met with an unclear, rude, response which made me feel like there would be limited options for me. This entire interaction made the shop very off putting for me and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Just wanted to share a voice of caution to my fellow curvy queens.

We came here to shop for my sister's wedding dress. Even though I didn’t purchase my wedding dress here, Johnnie did his own research and went out of his way to help me find the perfect veil to match my dress. He even put me in touch with a tailor that gave me a great price to get my dress altered. If you’re looking for a boutique to find a dress and veil, I would definitely check out Modern Bride. Thanks again Johnnie!

I am SO happy we found Johnnie and Modern Bride! After visiting countless bridal stores across OC and even in Vegas (which were all great), I was still feeling pretty defeated/frustrated trying to find a dress I really liked that was also within my budget (budget being the biggest factor tbh). Santee St was my last-ditch effort and I'm so glad I gave it a shot. When I called, Johnnie said that while they didn’t have the dress I wanted in-store, he would still be able to order it for me. I was between sizes, and he went above and beyond by offering to order one size first so I could try it on—just to help me avoid unnecessary alterations. He even offered to place a second order in the other size if needed. Super flexible and thoughtful which I really appreciated since it's already nervewracking buying a dress! The turnaround was insanely fast—my dress arrived just a week after we ordered it! Johnnie is so straightforward, knowledgeable, and kind. He knows his designers, understands what brides need, and genuinely wants you to feel amazing in your dress. The staff are also honest and didn't just try to make you feel good (which I appreciated). I can’t express how relieved and thrilled I am to have found Modern Bride and am really grateful for Johnnie and the experience - thanks so much!

Initially, when I started my wedding dress search, I was focused on a designer by the name of Sophia tolle. After doing a lot of research, I ended up calling modern bride to inquire about pricing. Their prices were so much better than most bridal shops located in Orange County. I end up making the commute out there intending on picking up a Sophia Tolle dress. After trying a couple on, I wasn’t too thrilled about how they looked on me and one of the young ladies that was working there was very helpful and showed me a couple of other different options from different designers. I ended up falling in love with a Martin Thornburg dress. I said yes to the dress! Together with the dress & the long veil, the price was within my budget and I was extremely happy. The owner Johnny was able to give me a discount and the total price fit my budget! They didn’t have my size so they placed an order and a couple weeks later I came back to try on the dress once again. Johnny and his staff are truly a wonder! His staff was extremely helpful and very patient. As a bride, I was nervous that I wasn’t going to find anything that I liked, but they made the process very easy and stress-free!
