The service was good, but not attentive. If that makes any sense. The entire time we were there, the waitress didn’t clear one plate from the table, and it was very uncomfortable trying to eat your main course with all of your appetizer plates still sitting there. My steak was not cooked well. It was supposed to be medium rare, and it was well done. She acknowledged it was well done and then did this back and forth of, “Do you still want to eat it, or do you want me to take it back? It’s going to be a bit to fix it,” and it’s like oh greaaat, jerky or watch everyone else eat. it was a punishment for me either way without them acknowledging the error or making an accommodation. like you could clearly ask the chef to prioritize it because the error. Apologies for inconveniencing you by asking to have what I’m paying for🥴🧐. I don’t know. It just sucked. It sucked. Sorry, because I know this is a nostalgic place for this community, but no. There are far better places in town. Also, the salad is bag salad. It’s just a bagged iceberg salad, like what? I could literally burn a steak and eat bagged salad at home.
Not your usual Steak Restaurant but this place has been around for a reason. Great Service with Danielle and the food was amazing. I think there was a ghost sipping on my beer.
The last night in Albuquerque ment it was time to visit #MonteCarloSteakHouse located in the back of a Liquor store. Yes, very cool and it ment good, cheap drinks. #margarita for me and #maiTai for my husband which he said delivered a nice rum punch. This restaurant came up in an Albuquerque food group as a local hang out. It was awesome. The interior felt like it was stuck in time when Elvis was still King. Dark wood paneling and dim lighting added to the ambiance, we needed a flashlight to read the menu. The entrees of pork were grilled and had great flavor and a wonderful sear. Pork Kebab for my husband, pork chops for me. Make sure to ask for medium for a less well done cooked meat. Panko battered #onionRings were yum and a great appetizer to start the meal off. Salads, rice, and baked potato complimented the meal, with Strawberry cheesecake to end the evening. So many other things I’d like to try in a return visit to Monte Carlo Steakhouse #GuyFieriDDDLocation
I wanted to try out this Steakhouse long before the days that it ended up on the Food Network shows. It is probably the epitome of a hole in the wall Steakhouse. Excellent steaks, no fuss sides and a very friendly dining staff. You also can't bet the idea that the eclectic decor is authentic and not something fabricated for a chain restaurant. I tried the prime rib special but actually liked the wife's ribeye steak better!
We were so excited to go here for our first time. We have been wanting to go for years. It was so enjoyable. The atmosphere is awesome. Very rustic, dark, quaint, and so nostalgic. The service was great. We had the cutest and sweetest waitress. Her name was Faith. My husband and I shared a steak meal. The steak was cooked to perfection. Everything was wonderful. The salad was fresh, and in a wooden bowl, he had delicious housemade blue cheese dressing. Oh, how, we love those homemade fresh cut french fries. We want to go back again. The only letdown was the iced tea. We like fresh brewed iced tea and not one from the machine. The tea wasn't good at all.

Where classic steaks meet local spirits in a nostalgic Albuquerque gem.
