Very cool vibe. Came in on a cold Tuesday evening and they were working - not packed but not slow - and everyone was super friendly. Service was prompt and the food was great. For my plant-based friends we ordered the vegan pie and it was great, easy 5 star recommendation. We ordered a few drinks and they were excellent - I recommend the Stormy Mootz if you're a mule person. Also worth noting, the giant picture of the guy above the bar is NOT Mootz, I think they said it was the grandfather of one of the owners but he definitely looks like a Mootz so it fits. All around excellent spot, easy recommendation.
Dinner | $20–30 I just love Mootz!!!! It’s hard to find an affordable menu, attentive & professional service and great food!!! One time I went to the bar side they were amazing another time I grabbed a slice of pizza but the middle restaurant is Definitely a 10/10 no questions asked!! Deuce was thee best server I’ve had in a long time! He suggested and asked the important questions! The manager I believe her name was Mary (forgive me if not) she even came and check on our table! I’ll be back more often… it made my experience memorable on top of it my Bonus Daughter treated me to dinner :) she was so happy everything was great and service was impeccable THANK YOU MOOTZ #KishaKasha
Mootz Pizzeria absolutely lives up to the hype. The garlic knots were fantastic, perfectly soft, buttery, and packed with flavor. And the Bee Sting New York, style pizza was incredible. a flawless balance of sweet heat, crisp crust, and high quality toppings that really sets it apart. On top of the food, the atmosphere is great lively, welcoming, and exactly what you want from a downtown Detroit pizza spot. Whether you’re grabbing a slice or sitting down for a full meal, Mootz Pizzeria + Bar delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend and will definitely be back. 🍕🔥
Located in front of the hopping Belt Alley, Mootz is the ideal casual pizza joint serving New York style pizza with old school Italian vibes. The bee sting is pretty spicy but delicious, love the thinner crust of their pizza. The garlic knots were a good starter- not sure if they’re anything special that I would order again, but the marinara sauce that comes with them is SO good! The best part of the meal was the vodka pasta- that sauce was incredible and the penne was cooked to al dente perfection! The bar staff was friendly and quickly made a clean area for us even during their busy rush. There was a bit of a hiccup with the knots coming out with our food but the manager was very kind and said she was taking them off our bill. It was not expected but a very thoughtful gesture! Great food and drinks, fun atmosphere, and excellent service!
It’s our first time here and Bri made it easy and comfortable for us. She was very nice and very approachable. The Food was awesome and sooo good especially the crust. The pizza was thin and yet so crunchy, it was made for perfection. the garlic knots and meatballs were really delicious ,it can be a meal already. Best customer service and will definitely come back because the food was worth eating.
