I called Mr. Handyman to repair a damaged astragal on a double exterior door. The door slabs themselves were not damaged. I paid a $100 service fee for an evaluation. The technician was on time and professional but said that because there was no door tag, it might be difficult to find the correct part. After weeks of no follow-up, I contacted the office multiple times and was eventually told the part could not be found and that the entire door would need to be replaced. I was quoted $4,500, plus extra for painting. That didn’t make sense to me, so I got a second opinion. A contractor from Taskrabbit came out the next day, identified the correct part, and sent me a link to order it. The part cost about $200, and it was installed the day after it arrived. The door was repaired successfully without replacing the whole unit. Based on my experience, I was disappointed with the lack of follow-up and the push toward an unnecessary and very expensive replacement.

Great experience working with Mr. Handyman, and specifically Ken. Had a shower issue that resulted in a plumber having to break into the tile, but the didn’t do tile work. I was pretty stressed about how it would go, and also had a time crunch since the holidays were coming up and family was staying over. It was easy to schedule, and Ken did a great job and was enjoyable to work with. Also very much appreciated Ken touch up other little spots with grout unrelated to the damage.

We had window screens that needed replacing. Eric came out, walked around the house to get a view of the project ahead then began working right away. He was professional at all times. When the job was done we walked around the house so I could see the completed work. I am very pleased with the outcome and would definitely contact Mr. Handyman for future projects.
