Ms. Boyd is a wonderful piano teacher. She is patient, structured, and really knows how to make lessons approachable for kids. I truly appreciated her encouragement and systematic approach to teaching. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to other parents looking for a music teacher.
They’re not professional at all when it comes to resolving issues. My music teacher was a wonderful woman and it sucks that I couldn’t continue with her, but on the business side of things, it’s dysfunctional and no one is ever in the studio to manage things on the business side, they’re all remote apparently. No accountability. If you have the patience to deal with them, go ahead, but considering that it’s like $75+ for one lesson. The way they treated me was not worth it. I recommend Sage Music, their studio is downtown and they are great people there. they will treat strangers like old friends and they offer free group lessons once a month and have multiple community events WEEKLY. Love them.
I have been a student here for just under 2 years. I am very lucky to have Tom Vela as my teacher. He makes every minute count in my 30 minute lessons. Before I started these lessons I was able to play very simple songs with starts and stops. Now I am slowly building my ability to play the guitar as an extension of myself and I believe I will be a true musician with time. With these thoughtful lessons and guidance I can truly feel music and I cannot express how much that has enriched my life. I highly recommend MACSA for music lessons. With patience and discipline it will enrich your life greatly

I’ve been taking classical guitar lessons with Tom Vela at MACSA for over a year now, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Mr. Vela is a very dedicated and thoughtful teacher who knows how to clearly communicate and demonstrate concepts about technique and musicianship to his students. He really is just what I was hoping for in an instructor. My children take voice lessons with Jacob Cantu, which has also been wonderful. He has great rapport with the kids, and they have come very far in musicianship and theory while learning to sing with Mr. Cantu. He’s very kind and professional, and just a great person to work with. I highly recommend MACSA for anyone seeking musical lessons in San Antonio.
