I had the pleasure of working with Stefan as my GRE tutor through MyGuru, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thanks to his guidance, I saw a significant improvement in my GRE scores in roughly two weeks, which played a key role in my acceptance to a PhD program. Stefan is not only incredibly knowledgeable about the GRE content and strategies, but he also brings a rare combination of clarity, patience, and personality to every session. He made even the most painful parts of GRE math genuinely enjoyable -something I never expected to say! His ability to break down complex concepts and keep the sessions engaging was truly impressive. Beyond his expertise, Stefan is personable, encouraging, and fun to work with. He helped me stay motivated and confident throughout the preparation process, and I’m so grateful for the positive impact he had on my journey. If you're looking for a tutor who knows the GRE inside and out and makes the process feel less like a chore and more like a challenge worth taking on, Stefan is the one.

I reached out to Stefan Maisnier with only one week to prepare for the BWA exam, and he still helped me get the maximum score. His ability to quickly identify the right strategies, focus areas, and prep plan made all the difference. Stefan broke everything down clearly and efficiently, making sure I knew exactly what to expect and how to approach each part of the test. Even in such a short time, he was incredibly supportive, responsive, and effective. If you need someone who knows how to get results fast—especially under pressure—Stefan is the go-to.

I worked with Stefan Maisnier from October 2024 to April 2025 to prepare for the GMAT, and I couldn’t recommend him more. He did an amazing job breaking down tough concepts in a way that actually made sense and stuck with me. Stefan shared tons of helpful tips and strategies tailored to the GMAT and always made sure I had the tools I needed to feel confident going into the exam. What really stood out was how responsive he was—even outside of our sessions. I could leave questions on a virtual whiteboard and he’d always take the time to respond thoughtfully. If you’re looking for a GMAT tutor who’s not only smart but also patient, supportive, and committed to your success, Stefan’s the one. With his help, I was able to reach my target score on my final exam!

I highly recommend Stefan Maisnier of MyGuru for MBA admissions guidance. When our son decided to pursue his MBA on a tight timeline, Stefan quickly created a clear, strategic plan. He objectively evaluated our son’s strengths and weaknesses, identified gaps—especially in quantitative skills—and worked closely with him to address those areas. Stefan’s deep knowledge of admissions and test prep ensured our son targeted schools that fit his profile and goals, and he provided invaluable support throughout the process. Stefan’s professionalism and expertise made a real difference for our family. My wife and I would recommend him to anyone seeking high-level, personalized admissions guidance and GMAT prep.

I had a poor experience with MyGuru for LSAT tutoring and law school admissions prep. For 6 weeks, I met with a tutor twice a week for 90 minutes. I would do practice test sections assigned to me and we would review them in our sessions. Because I was planning on applying for the Fall of '25, I wanted to get a 10 point LSAT bump from my original diagnostic score of 163 in a matter of 10 weeks. Although I did all of the homework assigned to me and showed up to my sessions prepared, I did not put enough additional time in studying to get such a large increase, but nor did I find the tutoring particularly helpful. Stefan advocated 'LSAT tactics' such as reading the question stem first and approaching questions in each section non-sequentially. Both of which I have dispensed with and realize were actually getting in the way of me understanding and mastering the test. I would recommend getting LSAT tutoring from a company that only does LSAT tutoring, as opposed to MyGuru, which tutors for a variety of tests. Don't go to a Chinese restaurant that sells chicken fingers. You'll get better food at a Chinese restaurant that focuses only on making Chinese food. You'll more likely get better tutoring from a company that focuses on just tutoring for the LSAT. Further, I paid for the plan that included the whiteboard feature in which Stefan was supposed to answer questions I put in between sessions, but he never engaged with the material I put up, rather waiting for our sessions together to talk about what I wrote on the whiteboard. In addition, I paid an exorbitant sum for law school admissions counseling. When the tutoring wasn't going in the direction I had been hoping, I cancelled the tutoring and the admissions counseling, deciding to wait for the next admissions cycle to apply. MyGuru would only refund me 50% of their admissions counseling fee, despite meeting with me only once about admissions. When I asked them for a refund based on the work they put in, they said: if they calculated that, it would be likely be a greater cost. So, I accepted the 50% refund and then asked them for a deliverable of the admissions work they had done. They gave me an excel document in which they took notes from our admissions meeting and had collected admission information from law school websites. There was nothing new or helpful about this information, and I suspect it took him less than an hour to copy and paste it from the law school admissions websites. Yet, MyGuru was comfortable charging me thousands of dollars for it.
