From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by the sweetest atmosphere and the nicest staff. Our waitress, Arielle, was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food and drinks (we had a bbq nacho and cabane a sucre poutine)(amaretto sour and corona) were outstanding—we honestly haven’t had an experience this great, both in service and food, in a very long time. If you’re spending time in Old Quebec, this place is an absolute must. We were staying at Loft des Barricades, and it was only a 5–6 minute walk to get there.
If I could give them zero stars, I absolutely would. I ordered the Montreal smoked meat poutine, and on my second bite I found a chunk of frozen meat. It was disgusting — not only was the meat clearly not fresh, but they didn’t even bother to defrost it properly, leaving frozen pieces in the dish. Every single item we tried was disappointing. The burger tasted like a cheap frozen patty, not freshly made. The calamari had no seasoning at all. The Tex-Mex poutine, which according to the menu was supposed to come with ground beef, instead had chopped sausage pieces. To top it off, the server seemed overwhelmed, running up and down trying to manage everything on her own. The kitchen and management seriously need to improve their quality, organization, and overall standards.
We were happy to find Nacho Pub in the middle of our shopping trip. Great food and service. Loved the quiet ambiance inside. There are also seats outside for those who want to enjoy their meals outdoors.
We were excited to try this place, but it didn’t meet our expectations. The servings were very small for the price we paid. The poutine with the bacon was very tasty, but not filling at all. The nachos were not anything special, but it did taste good. The food came out fast but the servers were not pleasant and didn’t check in on us at all. We also ordered the churros which were a big disappointment. Not sure I’d go back.
I would give 3.5 stars. The food is nice but not the best. Portion size is good. They use frozen patties in their chicken burgers that i didn’t like. Popcorn shrimp and loaded nachos were great.
