Absolutely awful. What has happened to customer service? Not only is customer service a bunch of script follow robots, I was also told by online customer service AND in-store customer service that the retail stores and the online store operate separately. So you think you're getting bespoke service at a high end department store (if your selection is not available in-store), but you're actually ordering from an Amazon chop shop equivalent. Very disappointing. I placed an order online, expedited shipping, it arrived in multiple parcels. Between two out of state trips plus thanksgiving travels, it appears I missed returning one item, and missed the 30 day cut off deadline by 3 days. Zero flexibility. I offered to take an in-store credit, so there is no financial loss to the store - but was told no by both online and in-store representatives. To add insult to injury - while I was on the phone with the overseas scripted call center, I looked and it appears the dress was marked down since my purchase. Refund for the price difference - not a chance "Maam, you're outside of the 30 days...." So basically you're outside of the 30 days and you're...too bad, you're out of luck. (Really makes me appreciate Nordstrom and their customer service approach.)
My foot got caught in the escalator and tore up my shoe. Very scary. Nice selection of Versace product, though!
I’ve been shopping with Neiman Marcus for over 20 years, and I’ve always appreciated the quality of NM's products and the level of customer service. However, my recent experiences have left me very disappointed. In December 2024, I purchased a Caracole coffee table from HowChow for $1,279.96. When it arrived, the tabletop had several noticeable scratches—even the delivery person pointed them out. It didn’t look like a brand-new item. After months of follow-up, I finally received a replacement in March 2025. The entire process was exhausting. Then in January 2025, I bought a LEBLON DELIEENNE Joy Chromed Golden Dog decorative piece for $300. I was really looking forward to it, but when I opened the box, I found a small hole—about 1mm wide—right in the center of the dog’s face. It wasn’t shipping damage; it appeared to be a manufacturing flaw. I brought it to the NM store in Palo Alto, hoping to return it as I’ve done in the past. However, I was told I needed to call customer service to arrange a courier pickup. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere beforehand, and I ended up spending over an hour trying to sort it out. It was a frustrating experience. Also, in January 2025, NM ran a promotion offering a $250 gift card for purchases over $1,000. I placed two qualifying orders, but I still haven’t received the gift cards. When I called customer service, they transferred me to the gift card department, who said the cards had already been emailed. I checked all my folders—including spam—but couldn’t find anything. When I asked for proof of delivery, the response was less than friendly. I was told they didn’t need to provide any evidence and that it wasn’t NM’s responsibility if the email was missed or filtered and NM won't sent a replacement card. What’s more, every time I asked to speak with a manager, whether in customer service or the gift card department—I was put on hold for 5 to 10 minutes, only to have the call disconnected. These experiences have truly disappointed me, and I’m questioning whether I can trust NM the way I used to.
I purchase for my boyfriend the baccarat rouge 540, I had an outstanding experience. The Customer Service was above and beyond !!!! very pleasant & positive energy, very knowledgeable was the best experience I’ve ever had at Neiman Erica Davis deserves a raise. I will only buy from her now and refer people to her. This woman knows the products and has the best attitude. She also took an extra step to wrap my things up very nicely and handled everything with care Thank you so much.
Palatial, glamorous, and extravagant department store with a restaurant. This store is arranged beautifully, with displays from dozens of brands providing a snapshot of each. The basement floor is dedicated to men, while most of the other floors are for women. The ground floor has makeup, skincare products, and you can see all the way to the glass dome. There's also a beautiful restaurant on the fourth floor. Going through the fifth floor is like going through the living rooms of many houses. I highly recommend visiting this place even if you're not going to buy anything. The displays are so beautiful and it's honestly like an art museum.
