The highlight of this gym is the staff. Both trainers and team are great. But since I’ve joined over the past two years, I have seen a steady decrease in group classes, especially ones in the morning before work. They keep increasing the membership price while decreasing the class offerings and equipment does not seem to be updated very often. The membership feels as though it is becoming less and less worth it especially with how high the turnover in staff and trainers seems to be.
I don't normally leave reviews, this might actually be my first! But I had to give this gym 5 stars because of my Zumba instructor, Melanie Johnson. If you haven't tried her classes yet, I highly recommend! I was nervous to try for the first time, but Melanie made me feel welcome and I caught on pretty quickly, for someone with no dance background.
Very solid gym that is clean with nice staff. Equipment is a bit older but is in very good shape. My only complaint is the lack of multiple ab machines like a seated crunch machine or rotary torso machine. I’d recommend for anyone looking for a more affordable gym option in the Columbia Heights area.
Great location and layout but equipment is neglected and in some cases dangerous. Take this pulley trainer. It’s “out of order” a lot and they never actually fix it because ITS BROKEN! The arms dislodge in the middle of a rep. The pulley cord covers are broken so it catches as you workout. And it’s dangerous. Replace it. Have some respect for your clients.
I like that all the entire space and all the equipment is on one floor. And because it’s on the third level, the gym gets a lot of natural light. The layout is well-thought out; it doesn’t feel cramped. They just have to update the signage, as it still says WSC. And please provide better quality towels.
