An excellent steak with excellent service. As soon as I walked in, the waitress was very kind and welcoming. Our drinks were always full and you could watch our steaks getting cooked in the open fire, or move to the middle bar to enjoy a drink. You will be paying top price for this place, but it is top quality, and for someone who has gone to most of the top quality restaurants in Perth now, I haven't seen a menu like this yet.
Went for dinner with my daughter and booked a couple of chairs at the Fire Bar. Very enjoyable to watch the 2 chefs at work and treating there produce with care and respect. We shared 3 entrees and then the Steak with 2 sides for Main and had 1 mocktail and 1 soft drink with our meal. Excellent service and food was very good indeed. We loved our dishes.
We dined at NextDoor79 as a family with two teens and booked seating at the fire bar, which turned out to be a great choice. The open flames were genuinely entertaining—especially helpful since there can be fairly long gaps between courses. We started with bread and the stracciatella with strawberries, which was outstandingly yum. The Singaporean crab toast was amazing and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Unfortunately, the scallop was disappointing—it was far too small for the price and didn’t live up to the rest of the starters. Don't offer if you can't deliver! For mains, we came specifically because we’d heard the restaurant offered unusual cuts of meat. That wasn’t really the case; the menu featured mostly standard cuts, all Wagyu. We ordered the flank steak, lamb, and chili pasta, along with sides of carrots and chips. The carrots were perfect, and the chips were well done. Personally, I would have preferred a standard Angus steak—while Wagyu is tender, it often lacks the depth of flavor I was hoping for. Dessert was a real surprise and a strong finish. The parsnip cake was a refreshing and creative twist, offering a great savory alternative to cheese, still sweet but not sugary. The passionfruit sorbet was lovely and light, rounding things off nicely. The atmosphere throughout the evening was beautiful—stylish, warm, and clearly designed for an upscale dining experience. Service was attentive, though at times a bit over the top. Our waitress was constantly at the table refilling glasses, but oddly forgot a beer order and brought extra soft drinks we hadn’t requested. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the experience, though I wouldn’t say it’s suitable for younger children—families with teens will fare much better. The total bill came to $435, which feels about right for the setting and quality, even if not every dish hit the mark.
Want best steak in Perth? This is the place. Nextdoor's steak has made into my most recommended steak house list. No words can describe the taste of the meat. Not a single dishes we ordered we have to give it a missed. It just too good. Definitely a must to visit.
Very aesthetic inside and the waiter was very knowledgeable on the cocktails list helping me choose exactly what I was in the mood for. I like that you can see the chef's peppering the food and rhe open fire certainly adds to the ambience. The steak and fish were the standout however I found the steak a bit overpriced for what it was. The sides were nice but nothing exceptional. I would return again but I wasn't blown away.
