I took lessons with Nicco Tyson for about a year, and he’s truly an outstanding harmonica teacher. I was initially skeptical about taking lessons over Zoom — especially for something as nuanced as bending notes — but Nicco made it not only possible, but incredibly fun and effective. His teaching style is patient, encouraging, and incredibly knowledgeable. Each lesson was thoughtfully tailored to my progress, and I found myself improving week after week, even in a completely virtual setting. Nicco helped demystify techniques I had struggled with for years. I only stopped lessons because of a change in my job schedule, but I absolutely plan to return when I can. Whether you're a beginner or someone looking to refine your skills, I can’t recommend Nicco enough. He’s the real deal!

Taking guitar lessons with Nicco has been a truly transformative experience. He's not just a fantastic musician, but also a gifted teacher who genuinely cares about his students' progress. Nicco's passion is contagious, and his extensive knowledge of guitar, particularly his expertise in West African styles like those of Ali Farka Touré, has opened up a whole new world of musical possibilities for me. He helped me reconnect with my love for the guitar by making learning fun, engaging, and culturally enriching. I can't recommend Nicco highly enough – he's the best guitar teacher I've ever had!

Nicco is an amazing music teacher. He is patient, thoughtful, flexible, inspiring, an excellent communicator, breaks down complex and unfamiliar music ideas and theory with facility, concision and ease, and he *really* knows his stuff. What I especially appreciate about Nicco is not just how well he teaches the intellectual and cerebral side of learning music and music theory, but how well he teaches the feeling and intuitive side of learning and playing music. I have had many teachers over the years (guitar, bass, piano and harmonica) and Nicco is one of the best, if not the best. I recommend him enthusiastically and without qualification. He is an A+ music teacher. You cannot go wrong with Nicco, he will make you want to keep playing and playing and playing.

Nicco is an incredible teacher - very knowledgable but most important wonderful human being. He'll make you feel very comfortable and meet you where you at. I studied harmonica with Nicco for more than 3 years now and he always made me feel inspired and excited about classes. He truly care about the technique and stays with you on the non-sexy parts of the learning until you fully get it. Thanks Nicco!

Nicco is an awesome music teacher. I took harmonica lessons with him through Zoom. My hour lesson with him each week was something I looked forward to! As a novice musician with zero experience (aside from recorder class in elementary school 🤣) , Nicco was a great coach and musical guide, helping me build my fundamentals and learn 2 songs. He balances challenging you with building your confidence and reassuring you to keep going when you hit a roadblock. All in all a great experience using a new part of my brain and learning to express myself through the harmonica. Highly recommend working with Nicco!
