Beautiful historic building right in the heart of downtown. The Greek Revival architecture is stunning, built in the 1840s and remarkably well-preserved. Free self-guided tours let you explore at your own pace. The legislative chambers are impressive. The grounds with the monuments and statues are worth walking around. It's a quick visit but a worthwhile one, especially if you're interested in history. A proud piece of North Carolina heritage.
